Josh Taylor vs. José Carlos Ramírez & José Encarnación Zepeda vs. Henry Lundy RBR.

Lookin at the interview, Taylor's left looked pretty badly swollen, I wonder if that played into his output dropping in rounds 11 and 12 - which I gave to Ramirez purely on activity.

I was shouting at Josh to up his workrate, but with a damaged hand and thinking he had it in the bag, I suspect he dropped his output because of the hand injury.

 

I thought Ramirez was given a poor game plan against Taylor. The instruction should have been; Taylor is lethal when he is allowed to be on the front foot, especially given his superior hand speed. Taylor doesn't fight especially well off his back foot. He tends to be much more defensive. All of Ramirez 's scoring came when he was pushing Taylor back. Also, Ramirez had to keep his right hand up the whole time and moving his head off center inside because Taylor was very effective with the upper cuts.

 

Davison had Taylor too cautious after the two knockdowns.

He could have kept up the pressure on Ramirez and would have certainly got the knockout. I think he lost too many of the final rounds on work rate alone even though he was never in danger of losing.

 

great respect from Taylor. He achieved a lot, but hes not ready for Duckford.

 

Fair play to Ramirez, a very good fighter lost to a special one there.. Josh is elite. Certified HOFer already now. Incredible career. Some of the American fighters commentating on it made me fkin vomit.. Ward is a bell end.. an absolute fkin clown

Give Davison his dues also, turning out to be an excellent trainer.

 

Not sure that was Davidson, I think that was the (what looks like a broken) left hand. Post interview Josh said he felt it after the 1st knockdown shot.

 

That was the biggest problem for Ramirez though, because of Taylor's multi-dimensionality - the first knockdown came from Josh finding the distance and countering beautifully - that WAS Taylor on the back-foot!

 

No, just no. Stick to Canelo and Jake Paul fights.

 

There were some close rounds with Ramirez having good moments but he only had 1 clear round. Taylor was landing hard body shots and clean counters virtually at will.

it was a great fight, it was the 2 best fighters in their division who wanted to be the best. Taylor is a great fighter, he showed it tonite, and Ramirez came to fight, looking at the fight i seen a lot of close rounds where a good body shot or good shot upstairs could have swayed the round in either fighters direction..

That said Taylor got the knockdowns and did what he had to do to win, but Ramirez did his thing as well, this wasnt a landslide like the forum thinks. Many other boxing outlets scored it alot closer than the scorers on here, just saying. This fight was close going into the 12th round.

 

Still can't believe Ramirez got up after the second KD, that was brutal.

 

It's a must system, which means no 10-10 rounds. Round 4 was Ramirez from my memory. 116-110 sounds about right to me.
