It shows the criticism he's been getting over the last two weeks has got to him and he's finally snapped.

I wouldn't be entirely against him, and think he is better than he is given credit. But his ego is growing and growing.

Davison is a product of the social media age he lives in to be fair.

The likes of Manny Steward had to do a bit more to achieve celebrity trainer status didn't they. It would benefit Ben if someone reminded him of that. Good young trainer though.

I have some sympathetic with him, there's a very difficult line to walk between being accessible, using all available channels to sell the fight, sell your boxer and help build their image, all very important in the fight game and overdoing it.

When he first teamed up with Tyson Fury there was a rebuilding job needed doing on his image. Having young, positive and erudite voice in his camp worked well and drew a lot of praise.

Much like boxing, he tactics that worked well in one setting may not be the best in another. The Saunders post fight case is a good example. Sometimes less is more.

Lol ridiculously egotistic and arrogant, taking the spotlight from Taylor post fight...

You could have had Anna Woolhouse leading Taylor’s corner last night and I’m sure Taylor’s boxing IQ would have seen him through.

I thought he was a bit of a chancer too early on but now a P4P top 5 fighter (Josh Taylor) is saying he is one of the best trainers in the world.. makes you sound a bit jealous and bitter.

Bitter? Not in the slightest. I have nothing against Davison but to tweet something like that in the immediate aftermath of HIS fighter’s greatest achievement, one of British sport’s greatest achievements, demonstrates his true character.

Add that to his conduct earlier this month in the Saunders fight where he broke all manner of courtesy in his dealings with Mark Tibbs and you have a guy who clearly is a talented trainer but had a major ego and arrogance that is pretty evident to British boxing fans.

Jealous? Probably not the right word, but I think any British boxing fan would be envious of anyone involved in the sport at the elite level, same with any sports fan really.

im gonna be controversial here but i thought Josh actually looked better than he did against Prograis, maybe its Ben or maybe its just Josh improving but you have to give him some credit

    That tweet is annoying though

I did think Mother Hen Ben was really good last night though, about round 4 or 5 when JT needed guidance it was all calm and good stuff I thought. Top man though, sorry for rudeness, I watched this fight about 9.30am with many beers after driving someone to airport, wish I had friends to watch all the boxing with, I only know people that would watch 'big' fights.

Sounds like Ben Davison and Kenny Bayless have something in common.

100%. Fighters like Taylor are that good that they just work out how a fight is going in their head and make the adjustments needed themselves. Brent Davison going on about feints and footwork all the time makes no difference to top fighters.

I'm not sure about Davison but Taylor showed another side last night.he definetly reigned in the aggression and punch volume and he was committed to landing that big counter shot.that shot in the 6th turned the fight for him and he showed patience and discipline to finally nail it.hes a very smart fighter joshy boy.

Who else does he train at the minute? Any up and comers we can actually judge his coaching ability on?

He probably wont be getting any favours within the boxing world after what he pulled with mark tibbs. He completely disrespected him to the point where he felt the need to make a video and clarify the situation

So you are saying that you get to a certain level and don't need a coach? What about Canelo with his man? They are like best friends that trust each other.. I say you are talking shabbawoki.. at this top level even 1% counts.. this was hell of a close fight.
