So I have something against Ali just cause I state simple FACTS ?!??? I think the problem you and many Ali fans have is that you see him with rose tinted glasses. Douglas being heavier than Cooper by a massive 46 pounds - is it a fact or an excuse ? It's a FACT ! Douglas taking down Tyson with a 4 punch combo and after 10 rounds of pummeling him - is is a fact oran excuse ? It's a FACT ! Cooper flooring Ali with just 1 punch - it's a FACT ! Tyson not being properly prepared - is it an excuse or a fact ? It's a FACT ! Of course it was his fault, but that has no bearing on how good a boxer he was or on the fact it took a bigger hitter more shots to take him down.
These Tyson fans that come in here randomly, are they different people or is it only one poster who keeps coming with new alts? Because it's just identical tropes coming from them all.
Tyson might have been in poor shape, I'm not sure myself, but if excuses coming from the fighter or the fighter's camp after a loss were facts almost no fighter ever just lost straight up. So be a bit careful about this FACT nonsense. On a side note, are you new or just a previously banned poster with a new alt?
I think one poster keeps recycling and has been for years but he's probably not alone. New names pop up all the time and you know almost instantly the ones that have cruised here before, sometimes long term.
At the end of the day, I do not feel any fighter is worth getting steamed up over and using naughty names to hurl at each other. We are supposed to be grown mature men, and we are all behind a keyboard. Real men who have a disagreement worth bickering about discuss those issues face to face, in a mature manner. These newer Troll like individuals need to be tucked in at night, the rest of us have already reached manhood. I am not going to ruin friendships over such trivial things like my favorite fighter, and make excuses for them, they were grown men, responsible for their own actions. If Trolls begin to pollute my post, then the mature thing to do is press Ignore. When you are an adult man, machismo is for the immature people of the world. I have met many terrific posters and friends on this site, I value their friendships. I am 62 years old, no need for hate because of difference of opinions.
If you don't think Liston landed bombs, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you haven't actually watched the fight. It's right there in the footage. Same with the Foreman fight. Both Liston and Foreman land plenty of hard punches which connect cleanly and Ali takes them just fine. Since you're so hung up on facts, can I ask what you've uncovered that leads you to believe this?
I was talking about a shot like the one Cooper hit him in 63. His physical appearance and the testimony of those that were close to him. The Census shows him to be around 2 years older. Personally, I believe it's even more than that.
