Three of the five judges have to push the button within one second of each other in order for the point to count.
I didn't know that. I was wondering why someone would land a jab and it wouldn't count. I'm not really familair with amateur scoring either.
You have to hit the scoring areas, the head and body, with the scoring area of the gloves, the white area, with a certain amount of force. Then as Kolya said 3 of the 5 judges have the press the correct button corresponding with the fighter who landed with a second of each other to get a point.
Actually, saying there **** all combinations is the complete opposite. The elite amatuer fighters do nothing but let their hands go. The hope being that if they throw 4 punches in 2secs, the judges at a different parts of the ring and will see different things. So judges will see different punches land but they will all say a punch land.. whether or not its the same punch they all see or not, they all press the button.
Exactly. Thank you for breaking it down, I couldn't be bothered to explain that by punching in bunches, you stand a much greater chance of a clean, scoring blow breaking through and landing and being visible to the judges.

apparently in england ther no longer lettin amateurs train with pro's as they dont want amateurs fightin like pro's i think thats stupid because unless ur cuban most good amateurs turn pro
It's the same rule in the USA, it's been that way for years here. It still happens, and it has nothing to do with how they fight for us; it has to do with mixing pro and amateur.
i dont se wats wrong with mixing them towards the end of my spell as a amateur i was only sparrin pros i still do tho im fightin unlicensed now
