The verbal exchange post fight all but confirmed it for me. He won the fight, CLEARLY, but the young buck was outworked late by a 35 year old former champion.

The fact that he was rocked twice and was relegated to holding for the last 2 rounds has GOT to hurt the 22 year old.

He was also basically begging the ref for time in the 11th.

    agree? disagree?

The word EXPOSED is overused on this forum.

    But...

    But...

    But tonight...maybe...

It reminded me of the night a slightly tipsy Jennifer was determined to blow me.

Wouldnt say exposed, but definitely a reality check. Hope Haney is humbled a bit by this, keeps his circle of yesmen small and continues to work on his craft.

He is not at that level. STOP the hype.

He is nothing special, boring fighter and boxing character.

I so sad that this guy getting paid so much money when a lot of other solid fighters with great performances not even getting 1/5 of the money.

That's why I didn't out and out say exposed.

But he did get a scare.

( You can safely disregard everything he said in the post fight interview....he was badly hurt and hanging on for dear life.)

This was his first elite opponent (other than a 39 yr old Gamboa) and Jorge is well past his best.

I think he would have been blown out by prime Linares or Gamboa, and I don't think he does well against Loma, Lopez, Davis or even Garcia.

He just doesn't have power and he has a question mark hanging over his chin.

He is very basic fighter without power. He will have to move up and when he moves up he will get KTFO. Linares was never a big puncher and despite being 35 old and shot almost got him out. If not referee and his wrestling he would have been gone. He is a KO waiting to happen. He also needs to learn sportsmanship. He also said he was never hurt hahah.

Did not watch the official decision nor the post fight interview, but trying to claim he wasn't hurt is laughable. He is essentially telling us not to believe our lying eyes.

It is a bit troubling that he can't admit that he was rocked. Definitely a sign of mental fragility. He could have acknowledge it, paid respects, said he is going to work on getting better, and moved on. It would have been forgotten about by next week. Now the stench of a battle worn former champ rocking you and finishing stronger than you is going to stick around much longer than it should have.

A bit of humility goes a long way. Hope Haney learns that.
