Well, they signed a two-way rematch clause and Wilder triggered it, so that's why it's happening.
The point is, Wilder's a guy who many picked to beat Fury last time (incuding yourself) so he must be quite dangerous.

Wilder has a horrible resume, but just about everyone in the HW division has an underwhelming resume.

AJ's resume is often cited as the best, and can definitely be viewed as such but it's not exactly stacked with impressive names either. People are telling us Andy Ruiz is a "top win" for AJ but that's almost wholly based on AJ losing badly to him. Surely it would be better to beat the fat guy on first attempt though, but in that case no one would regard Ruiz as much of a win. It's illogical to credit a fighter more for going 0-1 to 1-1 .... instead of simply going 1-0.

AJ has the most admirable resume because he stepped up early and took on guys who were quite highly rated at the time (Ruiz is NOT one of them) .... but most of them are a bit crap anyway. His average quality of opposition isn't great at all but it's better on average than any other HW's.

There's no one in the division who has a resume that can't easily be picked apart.

But, yeah, Wilder's 40+ fights resume is absolutely shocking. The average quality is lower than most these days. But hey, if he needed 40 fights to step up, that's what he needed. To be fair, he's faced Ortiz twice and Fury twice in his last five, and the other fight was a 1st round KO of Dominic Breazeale, who Eddie Hearn used to tell us was real good ......

    It only takes one punch.
I'd laugh if he sparked Fury out, proving everyone wrong again. I don't think it will happen, but it is still possible ...

Sparked out, to me, is a KO. Tyson got up. So no, try again.

Good points. After reading p1 I skipped to p8.

This isn't hard - Fury & AJ are very likely the top two HWs. Fans traditionally have crapped on the HW div. The reasons would take an entire long thread. You could pick apart the records just as easily of 1960s-90s HWs, yes including Ali.

The title of this thread is typical sports forum click bait. Fury's comeback story is one of the best - at this level - in boxing history.

Nah.....plenty on here always thought Wilder was utterly ****ing useless at boxing. You don't get out boxed by Polish football hooligans, French pastry chefs, supply teachers and late to the game former NFL players unless your boxing technique sucks balls. Wilder picked what he thought would be an easy touch in Fury the first time round given Fury was coming off a 3 year after fight party and the cherry pick very nearly went wrong.

By the rematch, Fury knew exactly what he had in front of him, trained appropriately and rag dolled Wilder like the one trick pony many on here always though he was. Two come from behind KO wins against Ortizn't doth not an ATG make. I have always thought that AJ beats Wilder as does a FIT Fury, Parker, Povetkin back when they were scheduled to fight, Joyce, Usyk. I think Whyte would be a 50/50, same for Ruiz and Klitscko 5 years ago would have crushed Wilder inside of 3 rounds. Just my opinion but, I've always had it.
