Canelo is a bigger star and moneymaker. Flash has more street cred with diehards and IMO the clearly deeper quality résumé (but in fairness that has a lot to do with considering Canelo unofficially 0-3 against GGG and Lara). If we're just gonna be talking about whats on paper then its canelo. If we really want to do a thorough analysis of their resume then its Donaire. Sure donaire has some questionable wins as well, but canelo has the single worst robbery of the past decade, popped for peds and questionable wins of his own whereas donaire has more decisive wins. Impact to the sport is irrelevent. Sure donaire is not as known in the west because he's a lower weight fighter but i doubt canelo is as recognized on the other half of the planet as well
There were only two fights after Floyd where I was certain Canelo would get killed/ GGG & Krusher @ 175 The red kid shocked the world for sure but with Donair currently I give him the edge for NOW
