He hugged his way to a "loss" yet he landed nearly twice as many punches and had a higher connect %? This content is protected
The fight was more about what Pac didn't do than what he did do. Pac basically lost points for not being the hyper aggressive fighter he's known to be. That said, neither guy did much, but Pac stunned Floyd twice, landed the harder shots, and was tit for tat for punches landed. Floyd also hugged an excessive amount and should have been warned to docked a point.
Had it 117-111 live. Watched the full fight again a few years later, my overwhelming impression was that Mayweather won even more clearly than I remembered and the fight wasn’t even that bad. Felt relieved as I had almost been gaslit into thinking I missed something the first time around.
First watch I thought 116-112 for Mayweather on second watch I had it 117-111 for Mayweather. You can hate Floyd all you like it doesn't change the fact that he won the fight and proved once and for all why he is clearly the best from his era. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either a completely deluded idiot or simply doesn't understand a boxing match.
It boggles the mind that anyone ever questioned the verdict in this one, and I say that as someone who picked Pacquiao and genuinely believed he would win. Clear decisive victory for Floyd, and he never even needed to take it out of 1st gear.
floyd still living rent free in people's mind after a fight that happened 6 years ago...that's incredible and hilarious.
Our regular Pacquiao fans haven't chimed in with their usual points so on their behalf: Pacquiao had a broken arm/shoulder Floyd IV rehydration If you watch in slow motion you can actually see all of Pacquiao's missed punches actually connected You need to watch the YouTube video that counts all of Pacquiao connected punches and half of Mayweathers Mayweather waited until Pacquiao was too old Marquez already knocked Pacquiao out so he was no longer the same Vegas is corrupt Floyd had the ref and judges in his pocket Pacquiao wasn't allowed his pain killers
