Would Teddy Atlas bring the best out of Deontay Wilder?

Deontay Wilder finding inner peace as he takes care of some bonsai trees. That is quite an image in my mind.

The rhetoric in camp would be memorable.

Teddy: "Deontay, ya gotta take that pail, and dip in deep into da water, you gotta dip it in real deep. Think of the pail like determination, and the water is like your soul... ya gotta dip in reeeeaaal deep... "

Deontay: "Amen brother, I'm annointed by God. My grandma told me so. Amen. One face, one name. Blessings. Peace bro. Bomb sqwwaaaaad!"

I don't think it would work out, no.

I think McGirt would be such a good match that I'm surprised it didn't happen.

Atlas would be the match made in hell of two aging prima ballerinas, eyes might get clawed out.

I don't think it really makes much difference who his trainer is

Wilder is too long in the tooth to reinvent himself anyway - he's not going to suddenly become a boxer with superb fundamentals at his age.

Regardless of what happens in Fury 3, he's not going to change - he'll either retire or deny anything was ever wrong and just carry on the same.

Wilder would literally kill Atlas within a week. Literally.

It would not be wise to put them together. Both Teddy and Wilder are mentally ill.

It wouldn't end well, it never does with Teddy and his boxers. Wilder might lose his cool and knock Teddy out.

No one can it’s too late for him... he’s always going to resort back to what he knows.

He hasn't brought out the best in anyone he's trained. Why would he bring out the best in Wilder?

Everyone who has been trained by Atlas fired him because they got worse. And, after Donnie Lalonde fired him, Atlas went to his house and brought a buddy with him and they were going to murder Lalonde. But Atlas had the wrong address.

    Atlas is a moron.

Only the great Emanuel Steward would have been good for Wilder.

You know......I'm thinking about Floyd Sr. when he was training Ricky Hatton. Hatton didn't listen to what Floyd Sr. taught him at all. That's why he got KO'd early by Pacquaio in that fight. Teddy and Wilder might end up with the same result as I said above.

Agreed, also his chemistry seems to clash with recognizably confident fighters. He enjoys listening to himself talk too much. Him and Wilder would look like you and me at a bar talking politics... They would end up choking each other out.
