How do you feel about rematch clauses?
I feel like they ruin boxing. Why should bums like AJ & Whyte get a second chance after they got absolutely destroyed and battered? Rematches should only happen when it’s a close fight aka Mayweather Style

The Snake Eddie Hearn put a rematch clause in a title eliminator fight, who the **** does that? Now he will probably duck Usyk because Usyk will not accept a rematch clause

Eddie Hearn is a fraud with no balls, he is the one stopping the big fights from happening

Did Tyson Fury v Wilder not have rematch clauses?

Since when has Eddie Hearn been the only promoter to add rematch clauses?

Yeah for big fights it's passable.

He does it however for Whyte v Povetkin, Warrington v Lara and virtually anyone else who loses on his stable lol.

I don't agree with them in any instance.
Immediate rematches should be based on a close or controversial result. Not on a contract signed before the initial fight.
Champions who lost their titles should get back in line.

Sooner or later Hearn will reveal the pioneering ''Best of Three'' rematch clause in case Big Joshie or Whyte lose to the same fighter twice in a row. He could add that to his famed ''Bodyguard'' deal where if you were a dangerous puncher, say Deontay Wilder, you had to fight Whyte before AJ.

Eddie Hearn is certainly not the only culprit currently, but the Whyte-Povetkin "final eliminator" with a one-way rematch clause in case Whyte lost ....... that was as bad as it gets.

The "worst of three", because they would still give them only 1 win to 2 losses ....

I can almost hear Hearn now : "But it's the third fight that really matters. Today we still talk about the Thrilla in Manila, see. It has crossover appeal, the casuals are what make this sport."

Funnily enough, Wilder's already seemed to have nailed Fury onto a "worst of three" deal !

Bernd Bonter and K2 used do it al the time. . When Tyson Fury was challenger mandatory he was forced to sign rematch clause against Klitschko.

Yeah rematches are sometimes warranted but im not a fan of the 'you have to beat me twice to pass' sort of rematches.

Do you remember the contract David Haye was forced to sign by Bernd Bontey?
He'd have to rematch both brothers if he won , on their terms and under their promotion.
He also had to agree that Vitali could step in on the last minute if Wlad didn't feel up for it.. Eddie Hearn got nothing on the slave contracts K2 used forced guys to sign.

Big name fighters get rematch clauses, especially when there’s a title on the line. Promoters are just protecting their moneymakers.

Is it sporting? No. But then boxing has never been sporting.

Eh.., they dont really bother me.

AJ vs Ruiz was a natural rematch scenario, imo.

That was Not even the worse clause in those K2 contracts. The worse was when they both were fighting if you beat one then you had to face the other immediately if they choose. Chris Byrd and Corrie Sanders were victims of those ironclad contracts.
