Benn and Buatsi will both be carefully guided to vacant title shots against random opponents similar to BJS for his vacant SMW title so don't expect them to face any big tests anytime soon.

His character is an egotistical little flash bellend with a chip on his shoulder, brought up in Australia yet puts a blag cockney accent on. Loved Nigel Benn but sorry mate your son is a divvy who thinks he’s better than he is, there is absolutely no chance he wins a legit world title, no chance

Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to drag Chris Algieri out for a fight to be honest.

I understand the reason for the comparison but the two are actually quite different.

Connor is a Matchroom hype job, out to get whatever pay day comes his way while he can. Ability wise he's nowhere near good enough to win a belt against a champion at 147, he has very limited ability but a very big mouth and is entertaining

Buatsi medaled at the Olympics, and is a special talent who has had a very odd career, been poorly managed, had his share of bad luck and no doubt his decision making has to be questioned but comparing the two of them as boxers, Buatsi is levels above Connor Benn in every department.

He IS good enough to win a world title, and I don't mean a vacant belt against a soft touch. I don't know when or against who it will come, but he will be a world champion he has more than enough ability.

He's also one of the most underrated punchers. He doesn't load up his shots like a Yarde or Johnson which is why he is so much more effective, it's speed and timing, but his power is devastating once he get's into a rhythm, if his chin is even just decent he will 100% win a belt.

Have they dragged Jim Watt out of retirement for this yet?

They'll try get Algieri. He hasn't officially retired and you just know if Benn stopped him it'll be the old..

"He went 12 against Khan and Pacquiao, no ones never beat him like that before, I've shown I'm at that level now. I want all the top dogs" (proceeds to call out Jim Watt).

Algieri is meant to be returning on the Lopez / Kambosos Triller card so not sure if he’ll be in the running but you are right he does fit the mould, and probably owes Matchroom a favour since they let him batter Tommy Coyle on AJs undercard.

I’m of the opinion it’ll be an old name, like Berto or the aforementioned Guerrero and Ortiz.

I'd fancy Algieri to box rings around him anyway, even now.

I see McKinson has a fight date confirmed although he didn't specify the date....something tells me he won't be fighting Benn but could be on the undercard as part of one of Eddie's marinations

Jessie Vargas would be a great test for him to see how good he really is, he’s fringe world level at welterweight and would be a easy fight to make if he’s still with Eddie?
