He quit in a fight he was dominating because of a sore shoulder. When I was a teenager I fell off my bicycle, I stuck my right arm out to stop my fall and ****ed it up really bad. I dislocated my elbow, tore my rotator cuff and dislocated my shoulder. The elbow injury hurt so much more that I didn't even realise there was anything wrong with my shoulder until I was at the hospital. I can't imagine a hard man like Vitali rolling over and showing his belly because of some torn stuff in his shoulder, it's pathetic.
Spot on ... I think , again over 15 but maybe not 12, that Frazier outpoints him .. superior stamina , punch output .. Vitali was great and absurdly underrated but he was nit any sort of terrific banger like his KO percentage indicates ... it would be a very competitive fight , a great fight .. P4P Frazier a level above but H2H one intriguing match up ..
Vitali has a chance but, in many respects, he is tailor-made for Frazier. Vitali is ripe for the left hook to both head and body. I'd feel confident in Frazier having success with this punch upstairs, since Vitali keeps his hands low and steps in, flicking the jab from his waist. It wouldn't be difficult for Frazier to time him, in my opinion. Added to this, is that Vitali's lean-back defense, which is evoked whenever he's under assault (and he would be under continuous assault against Frazier) is an open invitation to a body puncher like Frazier. It would offer so many opportunities to Joe, for both his left and right hand delivery, that it's hard to imagine how Vitali avoids taking a hammering to his midriff. When one considers Frazier's style; his relentless, bobbing and weaving to get under and inside (at a range Vitali doesn't have much of a game), it's going to take a extra-special performance from VK to maintain a notable level of scoring and keep himself in the fight.
If your not willing to go all the way when you meet a machine like Frazier you aren't going to win. And that's what alot of the younger posters fail to understand. These two are cut from different clothes. One you just about have to kill him to beat him and the other has no problem quitting on his stool.
I can’t see how this does not go a similar way to Foreman vs Joe to be honest. Yes, obviously there will be some differences, but if anything Vitali is a better boxer than Foreman, as well as having the size and strength.
Foreman. 6' 3". 220....lifted Joe off the canvas VK. 6' 7" 250.....higher ko% than Big G. Joe has little chance
No, Similar to the way Frazier walked through Bugner. That wasn't even a prime Joe. Vitali wasn't even in the same ballpark with Foreman as a puncher or an offensive force.
