Well that was a one sided beatdown. Don't know where Ritson goes from here. He's been found out at 135 and 140 once stepping up above domestic level.

Look forward to seeing where Ponce goes from here.

Did I say I supported the refs decision?

For my sake the fight could have been stopped already in round 1. The writing was on the wall, and I've been disgusted too long now by how British fighters are being gifted wins at home, in particular on Matchroom shows this last year.

My bad, I thought you where justifying the refs bad reffing, not just stating the rules. I'm aware the ref can ignore the towel, but that ref job was horrible.

I really do now wonder if SG was seriously considering lifting Ritson to his feet insisting on him to fight on instead of waving the 3rd KD

Nobody's dying from Ponce's weak punches, Ritson got stopped because he has a very limited skillset and blocks punches with his face.

Has anybody seen the scorecards for that embarrassment tonight?

Ritson didn't win a round, was beaten up and stopped in his own backyard.

And the narrative is all about the referee instead of the fact Ritson isn't anywhere near world level, shouldn't be spoken about at world level and once again another Matchroom fighter gets exposed after a week of "world title talk"

I need to see those scorecards, if they had Ritson anywhere near Ponce then there really has to be an investigation.

The referee was a complete tosspot from the very beginning, Ponce damaged Ritson with a bodyshot in the first round and the referee blatantly tried to stop Ponce throwing to the body with constant little "warnings" about keeping them up.

The referee tried to take that shot away but Ponce to his credit kept throwing shots to the body.

Then the towel, well, in my opinion, that looked to me like he was trying to tell Ritson "stay upright and you'll get a decision"

Anybody with partial vision could see Ritson was a mile behind, couldn't put a dent in Ponce and the referee obviously knowing Ritson was getting his backside kicked, throws the towel away, let's it continue, WHY?

So I need to see those cards.

Riiiiiight, I'm looking on twitter and apparently the powers that be won't release the cards?

I've been out tonight so I apologise for is late show.

But Hearn who normally says something about the scores was silent, no cards released... surely they didn't have Ritson up?

Always interesting to see the cards. I gotta say, I was super impressed with Ponce, Ritson tried his best but Ponce was relentless and crazy good stamina. On face value, ignoring the towel, I thought it was an ok stoppage by the ref. However, you have to wonder why the ref would refuse the towel? Your cards theory is very valid or is he just a very biased ref who wants the homeboy to win that badly that he kept him in it on a 'hope and prayer'? Even if the ref thought Ritson was still in the fight, he's not going to refuse the towel, he has too much to lose! This smells very fishy indeed!

Ponce was great, a really impressive performance away from home and he probably knew he had to fight like that to give himself a genuine chance.

It's well known Ritsons Father is in the corner, it's another Father Son duo, so it was a ridiculous decision to ignore the towel from a fighters father, because who knows him better?

The fact the referee let him knocked down TWICE after the towel is bind blowing, the second knockdown should have ended it, I don't care what the referee says afterwards about why he thought he knew better than a fighters father.. that was outright negligence.

Steve Gray shouldn't be allowed to referee again, what if Ritson got seriously hurt? How do the BBBofC explain that away?

But once again we will get Robert Smith coming out defending the decision and slaughtering anybody who criticises the referee.

I think we all need to see those cards, If Ritson is anywhere near Ponce in terms of points.. there should be a serious investigation.
