I agree, but propose 87-89. Holy would have been his toughest fight of the 80s BY FAR, but would have succumbed to his Warrior Spirit. We all know how the firefight would come out, Mike just plain punched too fast and hard. Would have been a GREAT fight between, say , 88 Mike and 91 Holy. Probably right up there with Holy Bowe I, except Holy would have been done in 10 imo, Iron Mike's prime onslaught was too ferocious and implacable. And this is coming from a man who far prefers Holy overall (though I have huge respect for Mike).

People thought I was crazy when I picked holyfield to beat Tyson when they fought.

I followed both their careers and always felt that holyfield would be too aggressive for Mike.

Holy was usually very active, and that seemed to perhaps subconsciously align with the way Buster fought him. Douglas just kept it coming, and kind of muscled Mike away from his usual punching area. It probably shouldn't have surprised so many people when Holy won...I remember (and feel unfair for it now) cheering for Holy at the end and yelling "beat that ****ing ******!: (in was in prison for putting a child molester in the hospital at the time).

I just believe that prime Tyson would have more speed, better defense, movement & combinations & beat prime Holyfield.
But Holyfield's great strategy & heart brought him home against Tyson twice.
Still, without steroids + clinching-I think he needed both-I doubt he could have won then, let alone against late 1980's Tyson.

Now we must here your a** kicking of the pedophile criminal story!

I was doing a short county jail bid (simple assault on a police officer) in Portland, Maine in the 90s when this creepy little dude with pasty skin and greasy black hair came into the cell I shared with about ten other guys (the cells were pretty accommodating with plenty of space and bunks...but we still had to poop in front of everybody lol).

Anyway, the guy's name was Ted and he had a pretty good buzz on, probably had a few beers. Not drunk, but just enough to be loquacious. Me and the other guys told him to shut up a few times because it was about 2 am, one of the few times the jail was at least relatively quiet. He was talking to some dweeb in for stealing a car or something. I was just starting to fall asleep when Ted started talking about what he was in for. He told us he had been watching his 4 year old girl and the next door neighbor's same age girl while his wife worked the late shift, and that he was horny and mad because his wife wasn't home. He hated her having to work late, he was unemployed, blah.

Of course, at this point I was getting a little weirded out. Sleep seemed far away.

Well, Ted went into great detail and with obvious pride how he undressed the kids and...

Keep in mind, at first it was such a horrible story I thought it was surreal. Not sure if I've described the feeling well, but that was it. Then, he started up about playing with them....with that region. He was smiling, as if relishing the telling. Apparently his wife came home early, and saw all this obvious foul play (you don't want to know what she saw).

I felt like my head was going to explode. I got up, went right over (he looked at me as if he had no idea what was on my mind) and I hooked him so hard (he was sitting, remember) that his head flew all the way back and got bashed against the wall. I had stepped into the punch with my left foot, and the result was a little scary. He rebounded off the wall and there was a patch of hair and blood that he left. The guards heard the other guys cheering me on and it was over. My chest was heaving, my face was apparently beet red. I was really...I was beyond livid.

I got a year for that piece of garbage in Maine State Prison. First time I'd ever been charged for anything while completely sober.

I saw the douche after he got sentenced for what he did, up in the prison. I went up to him (he was locked down so I couldn't get to him). I asked if he had any money (no) or any drugs (no). Told him to check into PC and he did that immediately. Never saw him again.

I became a very heavy drinker during my stay at the University (got booted for drinking, fighting, chasing girls, and playing too much loud Rock guitar in my junior year). From there I lived the life of a street-fighting, jailbird slut drunk from '87 to '02. Originally from Ohio, I went from Florida to Maine to VT, visiting wrath and jail in my wake lol. Stopped doing all that nineteen years ago.

I once beat up some 18 year old kid on a city bus for saying something about my mother (my mother lived about 12 states away) lol. Punched an off duty cop in the face after I panhandled him for money and he told me to f off. Another time I put a cop in the hospital for harassing the **** out of me. Just crazy stuff.

These days I'm a modestly reputable composer and guitarist.

Holyfield had problems with the 5'6"-5'7" featherfisted Qawi. The prime Tyson was far better than Qawi.
This "always Holy will win" thing is pathetic..

    Wow Jezzus H. Christ...
While it was a bad idea & likely not something you are justifying, I can understand why you might go Ape S#%@t hearing a stroy like that.
That may be the world's most stupid sick criminal.
He somehow had no idea that even the worst convict will feel for kids, hate & prey upon pedophiles (not that this was you, but saying that in prison that is a legendary taboo you will likely get a major league Tune Up-or chronic victimization-for.

If you like to share, of course now people will be curious about the Police officer assaut!
EDIT: I see your other posts now, thank you.
Maybe you wanna start a thread about extracurricular fighting experiences lol!
I do hope that you have mellowed considerably.

I was a very, very bad alcoholic on a rampage back in the 80s and 90s. Those days are left behind me, though I do train powerlifting (725 Squat, 410 Bench, 670 Deadlift). I train some boxing (mostly just bag work), but it tends to bring out those old feelings in me, while the weights don't. I'm a nearly 6 foot, 265, powerful looking dude, so I don't get messed with.

There were two cop assaults, the other was this Barney Fife dude that was harassing me in this little city Northfield, VT. It was mostly just because I wore a big biker leather jacket and boots, Death and Black metal t-shirts, and had really long, crazy hair. This was back in 2001. I was on a suicide drunk and beating any and everyone I could (only women I ever hit were coming at me with weapons)

Anyway, this Barney Fife guy would pull me over every day, just for walking down the street. He knew I had no warrants but he'd always check anyway, it really aggravated the hell out of me. One day I got drunk and took a nap by this big tree in a public park. This was during normal park hours, and I only napped for maybe half an hour. This idiot wakes me up by kicking me in the ankle, and I woke up steaming. He told me to get up, smacked me on the side of the head, and told me he was going to run my name AGAIN, after half a dozen times and no hits. I had enough, I pushed him and started running away. The little dude actually did a great job chasing me, and even got a hand on my jacket. I turned around and started knocking the hell out of him, but this guy was really courageous, he wouldn't let go of me my lapel, and I was just hammering him.

Naturally, his little cop buddies came, jumped out of their cars and pulled their guns on me and I stopped. Got 27 freaking months for that in the Vermont prison in Newport. After that the heavy drinking and being a dick was over (well, my exes might disagree with that last, as I can definitely be a dick lol! Just, no violence).

These days I channel that into the music I compose, and I have a little tiny bit of reknown that I'm proud of.
