Shakur Stevenson one of the most boring fighters to watch. Not much power, running. The only fighter less exciting is Rances Barthelemy lol.
Bob Arum " you can have the greatest opera singer in the world, if the fans dont support it you are out of business".
I see him like AB the problem about billions but never live up to the hype. He won't make as much money as Broner though cause he is boring AF! So kid wont be blinged out or riding a lambo soon.
I've been saying for a few years now that both haney and shakur are not that good, but posters here like MVC called me racist. Pampering their careers against bums is only going to make them get exposed worse when they finally do step up and fight a live body.
His matches are the equivalent of watching a local school board math curriculum debate on public access.
"most boring fighter to watch" "school board meeting" "pampered baby bum" I guess it depends on what you are watching for. I like boxing as a skill, I will watch mexican style (dont really enjoy two punching bags). I love a KO, but also like a guy systematically broke down with skill and nullified. I dont know if shakur has his man strength but if he does. he will need mexican meat assistance.
There was plenty of opportunity for Nakathila to get busy and take rounds on activity (on my card anyway) and he never did it. Stevenson is usually within a step of being in range, they just need to put him against someone who will press and cut the ring off.
Please! I never read Stevenson was a boring fighter prior to this fight. He put on a good, technical fight. You can't appreciate that? So called boxing expert.
Check all of the RBR's for his matches on here. It's been a consistent theme. And no, I can't appreciate a petulant unlikable twat who talks a big game, then going out of his way to put the audience to sleep, not even attempting to go for a KO. Tim Bradley and Andre Ward were complaining about how boring he was too, and Ward ****ing mentors him. You gonna call the high and mighty SOG a "so called boxing expert" too? You're trying too hard man.
Problem he has is he lacks real power, he's a solid enough puncher if he counters you but he doesn't have fight changing power. He also right now is facing guys who he's just levels above and so there's no drama because he's usually in total control, much like when RJJ was facing soft opposition, even then people were bored of his fights because you knew the outcome before the fight had even started. So yeah right now he isn't the most exciting fighter to watch unless you like technical boxers and get a thrill from seeing good technique and skills on display. He'll never be a Inoue or a Joshua in terms of excitement but when he does step up and faces someone that actually puts it too him and forces him to make adjustments and dig deep them maybe we'll see him in some exciting fights. It takes two to tango as they say and right now he's basically just dancing by himself. Hopefully Arum steps up his opposition because everyone is sick of these mismatches right now.
