Yes and most of them were inside uppercuts or chopping shots, Ritson was never staggered nor hurt to the head.

Look at his face ffs, not exactly marked up or a mess to say 90% of his shots landed.

You better stick to knitting or something son.

You don't need facial damage to suffer blunt force trauma.
Dave Allen talks like James Toney and I can never recall him having a swelled face after a fight.

Allen has been visibly hurt in many of his fights, tell me again when was Ritson wobbled in this fight?

He was overwhelmed and that's about it, not even close to a career ending beating.

Ritson may not be able to make 135 but his no 140lbs fighter. I know his operating at a higher level but still he just doesn't look anywhere near as strong at 140lbs.

I think he could call it a day.

I don't see how the board can do anything but suspend or potentially strike the referee off.

No ref can justify that and its disgraceful to see a ref do that.

If the man that has been coaching Ritson for years, is his father and knows him better than anyone else, and certainly better than the referee and 1000 percent better than an armchair fan, says its time to throw in the towel, it's time to throw in the towel and there's no argument to be had.

Ref had a howler. Ritson’s cornerman (& father no less) knew the fight was over and signalled as much by throwing the towel in. Who is Steve Gray to disregard that? The trainer knows more about his fighter than the ref.

Just watched it now, that’s a twat of a move by the ref.
I don’t know where Ritson goes from here, become a domestic level gatekeeper? I’m not sure retirement will be an option? Do you think he’s earned enough to retire? I don’t.

I thought he needed pulling out from round 2.....he was taking a complete pounding to the head ...it's worse taking 10 rounds of that than a heavy k.o early on.....

Maybe you should apply to be a referee, you seem to think you know better than Ritson's dad and 99% of the fans on here who could clearly see Ritson took an absolute beating.
The sport needs people like you, tough referees and tough cornermen that way we can see more deaths in the ring...... I mean they are gladiators after all.

He has had 10 fights with Eddie? Covid really screwed him as he could have easily sold out an arena in the North a couple of times.

If they are realistic with his level he could carry on and fight the likes of Tyrone Mckenna

Tbf the ref probably gave Ritsons career a hand up as I've no doubt everyone in Newcastle is now talking about how their man will always go out on his sheild rather than the 1 sided beatdown that was witnessed .
Thing for me is that I know Lewis is actually better than he has shown since he moved up to 140. The high guard walk fwd style he has chose to run with needs more flexibility imo. Lewis can box too, don't k ow why he doesn't try changing things up a bit.

I know, why don't we replace refs with the fathers of fighters you utter melt.

Ritson comfortably beat the count after the knockdown, it was from a body shot ffs and he obviously wasn't too winded.

Who the feck throws in the towel over a body shot anyway, at least let him see out the round.

Just seen in the dressing room, even Ritson and his crew were agreeing with the refs decision in the end.

He was dropped by body shots ffs you set of Sheila's, he was firing back after the initial knockdown as well before he decided he'd give best and the ref then rightly pulled him out.
