It's difficult to see where he goes from here...maybe a rematch with Davies Jn or even Ohara Davies.

It's not just an issue with carrying power up to 140, he seems to have stagnated. He hasn't improved and that's not going on last night cos he got hurt to the body in the first round and never recovered which can happen...but his last few fights he's looked very limited. His feet look so heavy, he doesn't use footwork to step in and out of range, doesn't move his head. It's like he's just going through the motions.

It's never a good sign when s boxer goes down in the first from a body shot. There's a long way to go and you just know more body shots are gonna be landing.....

Gave me the impression on his way to the ring that he was already beaten mentally.

From very early in the fight, he was hurt and never really came out of survival mode.

Eh Day Earn really needs to ensure 'future World Champions selling out football stadiums' can live up to the hype and high expectations of the fans as these claims were made far too early in his career based on his CV at the time.

The Patera fight showed he was British level, he lost to Vazquez in his last fight and last night, he reminded me of a very poor version of Jamie Moore at the end of his career.

The only punch that he had any success with was his jab. Yet he stopped using it! He has a very hard jab, but little else in terms of "boxing" skills.

I can see merit in both sides of the argument here. To be fair the ref (admittedly a plug of a man!) may not have heard the corner telling Ritson it was his last round. Plus it was one body shot in an exchange where Ritson was throwing back.
The ref may have simply been giving Ritson every chance.
Also if the towel had NOT been thrown in would we really be all that upset about the stoppage?, the fight being allowed to go on too long?, Ritson taking too much punishment etc? Probably not, I feel. I only gave him the 2nd, and he was taking a pounding in EVERY other round, so in the great scheme of things the punches he took in the finishing round probably didn't do him much extra harm?

You really are being silly i would not comment on a fight i have not seen .As for your statement saying i do not know what happens in boxing well that is just laughable. You are the one who is the minority with your opinion

Lots of rumours flying around about the scorecards we were/are not allowed to see.

Even on a couple of boxing YouTube channels, rumours flying around boxing circles.. it's been said the cards where terrible, seriously bad, shocking.

I haven't been told scores but Ritson was apparently up on two of the cards and that's why they didn't release the cards after the fight.

How true that is, no idea, could all be rumour and nonsense but it would explain why nobody was keen to let fans see them.

Felt for Ritson on the weekend.

He was very exciting when he tore through the domestic 135 scene and the North East boxing circuit has a lot to thank him for as it's him who has brought the big nights back there.

I've always liked his jab and clearly he carried power at 135 but since moving up he's not been able to match that form. Clearly there is a bit of an issue with body shots and I think he has OK power at 140 but it isn't having anywhere near the same effect as it did at 135.

There was a lot of talk of a world title shot before this weekend but obviously that's gone out of the window. He isn't a world level operator but there is absolutely no shame in that, he has and can continue to be involved in very good entertaining fights and earn a good few quid in the process.

Really enjoyed his fight with Robbie Davies, it was a superb scrap and that sort of opponent is where he levels off at.

Would not be surprised and if this is confirmed, surely 'incompetence' can no longer be used to defend corruption.

Angel Di Maria won every round except one and even Stevie Wonder could see that.

Why did Lewis Ritson decide to appear as Mohammed Toon Ali on Saturday anyway?

    Has he found the light?

Reminds me abit of Josh Kelly. Wiped through domestic opposition but as soon as he stepped up to European level, has really struggled.

I don't know much about Ritson but maybe a change of trainer? Sometimes that can help a boxer develop with a change of scenery and some fresh ideas.

What's the deal with his trainers/history?
