I'm always fascinated at the dirty politics behind boxing, and in 2021 we regularly cite terrible scorecards but never really look much further. From the powers outside of boxing, there seems to be a history of footage mysteriously disappearing from the internet too. Typically these fights are pulled due to footage exposing a weakness in a fighter or simply an attempt to hide all evidence of a loss. Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 fights in particular, but I'm sure I've witnessed more. This content is protected - Mysteriously, the full fight footage was pulled not long after the fight and then only recently it's been reactivated. Coincidently, Canelo's only loss. It was uploaded recently, before the Saunders fight and Mayweathers exhibition fight. This content is protected - Vanished in the hours following his first defeat (TKO) This content is protected - Sconiers dropped Wilder and the footage was wiped from YouTube I'm interested to know what fights can you think of? The official PBC highlights of Ruiz vs Arreola didn't even include the knockdowns of Ruiz. They didn't post the actual highlights of the fight until talk of the fight died down about a week later.
I thought it was only 'boogeyman' Ortiz that was able to do that? Don't tell me these Wilder fanboys have been lying to me all this time? Props I'll take a look! That's wild if that's the case, as everyone saw it and the boxing world was talking about it for days to come.
Danny Garcia vs. Mauricio Herrera, universally panned as a very bad decision. Don't know if it's up now but for the year or two after, I remember there being little evidence it ever happened on YouTube.
How about the video of bigfoot riding a unicorn getting abducted by aliens in a UFO captianed by Jimmy Hoffa.
Props I watched it live and that was it. Not surprising though given the controversy...I still remember Max Kellerman being pissed about it and saying Herrera was robbed of fighter of the year. I just checked on YT and FB. Interestingly, it's on Facebook via https://fb.watch/66yuFl7xjQ/ - Video caption "Get your scorecards out! Here's the full fight #GarciaHerrera!" You're right though, no sign of the full fight on YT
They replayed it on TV while boxing was on pause last year. After I saw it for the next year the only videos YT recommended for me were slow motion clips of DSG landing punches in that fight. The truth is out there.
adonis stevenson getting stopped by boone . Recently I can't even find the highlights to arias vs hurd much less the entire fight.
Still more likely than seeing Paulie with a one-punch knockout The boogeyman himself had Ward, Kovalev and Stevenson in fits. On of the ATG gatekeepers! I couldn't find anything other than cam footage. Props! Arias vs Hurd... were there any highlights?
The video where canelo admitted to taking clen but only for the Golovkin fights which he also admitted he lost.
AJ vs Savon is hard to find, you have to go through and find it through several hours of Olympics boxing.
Can archives like the Wayback Machine not dig footage up? On the other hand I've noticed that if you diligently and regularly search for content by a particular fighter eventually the fights do surface for a couple of weeks before they are pulled again. I recently found Sanders vs Hart which was a nice bonus. I know Sanders vs Bispo is out there (didn't DL and when I went to do it it was gone) and Sanders vs Nelson HAS to be there somewhere. That said Wilder / Sconiers is the most infamous example afaik.
