PBF was also injured in the first fight you can't overlook that fact. The rematch is a much more true comparision. I could also say Randall was a good two levels below PBF. Not to mention Chavez always had problems with speedy fighters with good defense and movement.

 

I guess this all comes down to how you define "legend." Some people's criteria differs than others, I suppose. Obviously those people who don't consider Chavez Jr. a legend will have people on their list that others won't consider a legend.
However, there comes a point where it's can just be silly. Like saying "I don't consider Alexis Arguello a legend" (just using him as a random example - I definitely consider him a legend).

I suspect that you if you took a poll in the boxing world, a vast majority of people would describe Chavez Jr. as a legend. I would.

Taylor and unca Roger fight nothing like PBF. PBF is better than Taylor in every department except speed and workrate. Taylor's Philly fighter mentality was his undoing in that fight I can't see Chavez dictating the pace of that fight and Chavez making PBF fight his fight and stand and trade like Taylor did. It just wouldn't happen.:deal PBF would fustrate Chavez with his speed and angles stay on his bike stay in the pocket only when neccessary all the while winning by UD.

 

my mistake your talking about Castillo fight never mind, However Castillo was JCC sparring partner and Floyd struggled with him in two fights and really lost the first

 

I strongly disagree, what kept Taylor alive in that fight was Taylors work rate if he threw fewer shots like Floyd and played out a saftey first type of fight he would get mopped.
Look Chavez already beat Unca Roger what makes you think Jr could do any better?

Unca Roger isn't in PBF's class. He had more power for sure but wasn't as fast not as good defensively and most importantly doesn't have the chin of a PBF or ring smarts. PBF is an ATG Roger isn't an ATG or probably not even HOF. PBF is miles ahead of Roger and you know it.

I also disagree with if Taylor threw less shots he would have been mopped. If he would have fouught like Pea and looked to control the fight with his jab, countering ability and movement he would have won. His decision to open up, stand in trade is the very reason why he lost if he would have boxed more he would have won.

I also agree he tends to get overrated by some, but just as Sweet Pea says, people also judge him too much on his pre- and post-prime career. His prime years he was really good.
