Battle between 2 solid technical counter punchers. Could an ATG like JMM be able to keep up with the skills and talents of a legit WW like Curry? He hasn't had that much fight at WW but he did score one of the biggest wins at that weight class. Would be a technical marvel to watch.

Curry would stop him in 5 rounds. I was never a big fan of Marquez. He fought many guys late, and had a good style for Manny but other than Manny he sort of fought softer touches, and then lost easily to Floyd and to Bradley later. Curry speed would make the difference and the weight.

Marquez v. Bruce Curry would be a much better matchup.

I've always felt a similar way about Marquez.

Grossly overrated because he had Pac's number.

Don't get me wrong, he was an EXCELLENT fighter at 126... but his overall career and quality as a fighter is overrated.

Too heavy for JMM. Curry a natural WW.

The natural weight differences is the 1st obstacle for JMM, with him being a natural feather weight, and Curry being a natural welter/ jr.middle. Than the pure skills dept where Curry also is much better than JMM. Than the pure physical advantages Curry would have in speed, Height, reach and power. It would make for a very short night and violent knock out loss for JMM.

    Bump
I think Curry at his peak may be one of the few fighters who could have potentially stopped JMM IMO. Curry's economical style along with his jab, accuracy, power, tight defense and infighting might spell doom for someone like JMM.

JMM way too undersized to be competitive with many ATG welters

Did you ever see Donald third brother Graylin Curry ? He was a good amateur but didnt really pursue a pro career he really wasnt interested. I remember Don saying in Dave Gorman's gym that of the three Curry brothers Graylin was the most talented

Hard to take on a WW when you are a 125-130 pound fighter .. I mean you saw what Mayweather did to him after dragging him up 3 weight classes
