Ward should have moved up to LHW sooner.

    Why didn't Ward move up to LHW shortly after winning the Super Six? He could have easily become undisputed there. Can you see the likes of Shumenov or Cloud having any chance against him? I sure can't.

    I would have preferred to see him carry on in the division against Bivol, Beterbiev tbh.

    Why didn't he turn pro at Light Heavyweight after winning the Light Heavyweight Gold Medal at 178 pounds in the 2004 Olympics?

    Most Olympic light heavyweight medalists like Muhammad Ali, Leon Spinks, Mate Parlov, Antonio Tarver, Slobodan Kacar, etc. turned pro at light heavyweight or heavyweight.

    Clearly, Ward could dry out effectively and tried to pick up some easier belts. So, he did.

    To be fair, lots of fighters fight at a different weight class in the pros than they fought in in the amateurs. Lomachenko won medals at lightweight, but started his pro career at featherweight.

    Ward went from the 178-pound Olympic Gold medal in 2004 to fighting at 160 in 2005. (LOL)

    Hell, Floyd Patterson, Chris Byrd and Michael Spinks won medals at Middleweight in the Olympics and won heavyweight titles.

    When Ward won the gold, I was excited to see him as a heavyweight. A year later, he was drying out to 159 and rehydrating back up before the fight 30 hours later. (LOL)

    Ward was a weight bully. I'm just calling it as I see it.

    And Kovalev wasn't the "king" at LHW. He was just a titleholder.

    Stevenson was the "king", being the lineal champion and all.
