Who expected Pacman to make it all the way to 147? It all depends on Inoue's chin, he has 5-6 years at a decent level left in him
Most boxing fans don't follow the leprechaun divisions and I don't know if the casuals across the pond are ready to get behind a Japanese leprechaun who doesn't speak English.
Doubtful. Inoue would have to do crazy weight climbs. And Inoue doesn't have a story to tell like Pacquiao and he speaks less (if he even speaks any) English than Pacquiao. Inoue has a very passive personality and he doesn't talk smack. He's not very marketable outside of his skills.
If he wants to become a big star in the US he should call out Clenelo or GGG or one of America's homegrown top boys like Spence, Crawford, or Jemallo. I think he beats all of them right now but I think they'd duck him. Or what about a freak show superfight Inoue vs Shields?
Still hoping for the Monster to finally break into international super stardom… Lots to like about him. Humble, honorable, vicious killer in the ring, exciting fighter to watch, great KOs, and has the looks of a KPop member.
Unfortunately, casuals like to see landwhales gassing after round 5. But there is still a hope, Inoue is a young good looking asian, he can start singing J-Pop and posting life style videos on tik tok to gain popularity in our social media age, hahah
Unlikely simply because he'd need to move way above is natural weight for most fans to take notice even with his fan pleasing style. Also he needs name opponents to build his name on. Pac had MAB and Morales who were both popular elite boxers of the time to help build his name off and even then he really didn't cross over until he beat De La Hoya and had Mayweather as a rival to build interest in him. Who does Inoue have who could give him the same big fights that would draw the fans to watch and follow him? Answer nobody not even if he jumped up to his 7th division and fought Loma and Lopez those guys are not even in the same league as Mayweather and Oscar in terms of recognition.
no. setting aside the little interest casual fans have for the lower divisions, inoue doesnt have the opposition to become a superstar. Nobody around him is a known fighter plus he is too inactive, he averages only two fights a year, to leave a lasting impression. Finally his fights after donaire, the biggest moment of name value of his career, were completely unremarkable against no-mark opposition. the dasmarinas fight was yesterday and idoubt someone is talking about it.
Maybe if he puts out a J-Pop single, otherwise he will just have to settle for being heralded on boards like these all over the world.
