I can't comment on Calzaghe, I don't mind the guy but never heard him commentate, McCrory is, probably after Ian Darke, my fav uk fight commentator, so I would like to hear him again. Is Jim Watt still alive? The rest of your list, I absolutely agree, grade A **** sticks! Please keep any of those clowns from Sky away! Any of the BT dudes available? Paul Dempsey is a good, no nonsense host. I don't mind Richie Woodhall, he seems to freelance? Barry Jones is good.

Nothing but a bitter, arrogant hater. Plus he lost HBO hundreds of millions of dollars when Floyd left, because HBO, and especially Larry Merchant, completely refused to simply give Floyd, an HBO signed fighter, a fair shake.

Floyd got nothing but criticism, criticism, criticism from them. Even after his greatest wins, they scowled him in interviews still inside the ring. No congratulations, no well done, no support.

Well, the rest is history. Hundreds of millions of dollars for Floyd. Global superstar for Floyd. Household name for Floyd. A network that actually supported him and made Floyd an international star. Let's not forget Showtime also made hundred of millions of dollars on the back off the deal with Floyd for good measure too.

Today, Showtime is one of the very few big players in boxing.

Tell me, because I forgot, where is HBO Boxing? Yeah, they had to shut up shop because they lost Floyd. That is the number 1 reason they shut down. Before anyone denies this truth, ask yourself; had they had the hundreds of millions of PPV money, advertisement money, endorsement deals, sponsorship deals that all came along with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather would they still be around? HELL YEAH THEY WOULD BE!

Nichola Adams fills both roles and is also black so fills every diversity role avaliable and it would not suprise me one bit if it were to happen. Maybe not on commentary but part of the punditry team.

I think Eddie should focus on getting some better content before trying to add frills of commentary team etc. Good fighters against decent opponents seems a good place to start , if I hate a commentary team I can turn the sound down. The 4 bills for fight camp probably could be made into one decent non PPV card. I think Sky must be gloating a bit the deal with Top Rank must have blindsided the Smug one as the last 2 weekends have been best boxing content from Sky in a long time.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if paddy mcguinness got a job he seems to get on everything else.

Indeed it is. After a 10 year hiatus proper boxing is permanently back on Sky Sports.
