The 7th is similar to the 6th: Super Argumedo is throwing bombs, landing a few, and pushing Matellon to the ropes. Problem is, Matellon is catching at least 1 of every two on his gloves and forearms, and even when pushed to the ropes he's hitting Super Argumedo as much as he is getting hit. It's catch-counter vs pressure fighter making the fight, so who knows how it's getting scored.

8th and 9th and it now clear Matellon has the kryptonite to Super Argumedo, taking the wind out of his sails and just countering him with ease.

Oh **** no; they aren't giving him credit for his counters or the blocked punches.

10th Round Matellon just kicked his ass. Super Argumedo tried, but even when he forced Matellon to the ropes, the one getting punched was him.

11 Round is more catch-counter ass whipping from Lex "Matellon" Luthor. Argumedo (no longer Super Argumedo) is just wading in and slugging with arm punches and even getting backed up.

Matellon is just classy Cuban boxing. A pleasure to watch when he engages himself.

Jesse Vargas makes the English commentary SO much better. Those are your notes on a sluggish 12 round.

Okay, I know I haven't been scoring this but...Matellon won, and should have won by more than a couple points. Mexican faithful can boo all they want.

Matellon wins, wide on one card. Crowd boos but what do they know, their guy was gushing blood and getting his ass whooped.

Not the 'do, nor his schmaltzy voice, nor his skeezy personality. He's just a pile of putrid, oozing creep.

    Round 1

Martínez is jabbing the face and hooking the body of Córdova, who is throwing heavy counter shots and swinging himself off-balance with line drive rights at the chin and big can-opener left hooks. Some brilliant combinations by Martínez, catching the challenger rushing in with a flush uppercut landing unseen from below flat on the bottom of the chin and then finishing with a matador check hook while maneuvering off the ropes.

    10-9 Martínez
