I actually felt sorry for Nakatani because Loma beat the crap out of him and he would've been on the receiving end of an even worse beating had his height and reach not made it so difficult for Loma to get inside and unleash his combinations like he usually does. The holding when Loma did get inside spared him from more punishment too This content is protected
Solid analysis. Indeed the notion that Loma is lacking in the power department was always an absurd take. Rather he rarely commits himself to full torque shots, unless he's going downstairs to the body. At 135, I'd rate his power as above average but not demonstrably so (think of B or B- on a grading.scale). Alternatively, at 130lbs, I think Loma possessed very good power (B+ to A-).
He doesn't have that killer mentality like Hearns or Tyson, but if he sees that a fighter is not dangerous for him, he increases volume, starts to sit on his punches and giving that he is extremely precise and unpredictable he can KO pretty much every one
Lomachenko is a puncher. An arm-puncher, but he hits very hard. This has been something developed mostly since moving up to 135 though, before then he relied more on speed and flurries. The last couple of fights he’s been throwing with heavy-hands. He’s turned more into a pro fighter. (Powerful arm-punching puts most of the strain on the shoulder, which is probably why he has constant shoulder issues). I kind of felt bad for Nakatani in there, Loma clearly had a no mercy or fuks given approach to this fight. Looked to me like Nakatani was made to pay for the frustrations Lomachenko has been holding for Lopez. But now that he’s vented I’m curious if he can summon the same focus and ruthlessness for his actual tormentor. Nevertheless, great performance from Loma.
7?. ****er is still knocking everyone down and hurting them. I think Clottey and Marquez are the only ones he could not hurt at welterweight. Marquez from the 3rd fight that is.
I was a little surprised that Nakatani didn't try and make this a rougher fight. I mean in a boxing match he had zero chance of victory and I thought Loma winced noticeably a couple of times when Nakatani landed body shots. I 'd say Naka needs to evaluate what he wants to do the rest of his life , I believe that fight took a lot out of him. He has more guts than any 3 fighters but he has the defense of a heavy bag and he's going on 33 years of age.

What!! a judge gave Nakatani 2 rounds! Impossible , I quit scoring it after the 3rd round because there was no point in continuing
