Davis only legit title(s) are at 130, beating Pedraza for IBF strap. The WBA Super that he won was a bit odd in that Machado was "downgraded" to regular champ, with Davis fighting (and KOing) Cuellar for the Super (legit) title. Something definitley fishy there.

This type of 'claim' is as legitemate as saying that Pacman is an 8 division champ (he's not, 5 only), or that GGG equalled Hopkins title defenses (he technically didn't because the first 10 sefenses were only regular title defenses - alothough tbf to GGG the Super champ was vacated so that situations was a bit different, but still).

I know the bodies need their sanctioning fees and corruption abounds, but it should be sorted out as it's easily the worst aspect of boxing today, and is a real barrier to the best fighting the best.

Totally agree, but avoiding top fighters on your climb to wealth is standard operating procedure in todays boxing in practically every division. With all the titles and divisions it's possible to win a belt for some made up vacant title defend it a few times move up win another belt defend it and have 8 title defenses in 2 divisions and never fight anyone in the top 3 or 4 in either division.

 

Except neither were legitimate three weight simultaneous champions as the regular belt counts for jack **** except to say you're owed a mandatory shot. Gervonta is still only a single weight champion.

 

As long as they keep feeding him bums, he will look good. He’s a protected fighter, more than anyone in boxing. Got out of 130 and 135 without fighting one life body. Just old guys and little guys moving up. Total hype job joke.
