My instinct from watching him is he’s several leagues below Fury/Joshua level.. and a fair bit below Whyte/Joyce level.. perhaps on a par with Chisora and a little better than some of the British HW prospects. I don’t think he has the raw talent Dubois does but given his amateur pedigree it could be an interesting fight.
He is decent, good power and strong but can be easy to hit. Not sold on his stamina, that being said I haven't see any of his fights over the last maybe 2 years to see how he has improved. He will break the top 15 but I don't see him getting close to a title. He must be about 30, so he will have to be moved reasonably quick in the pro ranks. Problem is the landscape of the division in 4 or 5 years will see Jalolov, Anderson, Hrgovic and Gadzhimagomedov all ready to fight for titles and he is miles away from them in terms of ability.
Should've turned over at a younger age but the olympics has clearly been his dream, like people have said before he's a bit too hittable and can see him being chinned at the top level. He's clearly a better fighter than Wardley but he has youth on his side and I expect both of them to get to a similar level (Euro/Fringe World)
He's good but not as good as the GB heavyweights that came before hiim - Joshua and Joyce. He lost 3 times to Joyce and was knocked out in one of them. He's left it a bit too late to go pro. I think he'll get to Euro level.
Always suspect there's a reason some fighters stay in the team GB set up in their Prime rather than try and earn real money.
I think he will level out somewhere between British and European level. If matched right and he gets the right team for him turning over he could nick the European belt. But it’s an uphill battle starting as a professional at 29 years old, as you left your best years in the amateurs.
A better question would be, who will have a more successful pro career: Frazer Clarke, Solomon Dacres, Horsea Stewart, or Delicious Orie?
Clarke probably don't rate the others, delicious orie has potential but Clarke is a class above them all in terms of pedigree and skill
I think Frazer Clarke is clearly is the best of them all. Delicious Orie is staying amateur, it'll be out of him or William Howe (Middlesborough) or Reece Sloan (Liverpool) who'll be represting GB at the 2024 Olympics at super heavyweight.
He's a good fighter and will become a good addition to the British scene. That said, I don't see him getting near a world title and given his age, he'll need to be moved at the pace we've seen Joyce moved at whilst not being as a good as Joyce
Agree that that Delicious Orie is seemingly likley to be the next one to turn pro after the next Olympics and just signed to STN who have a strong relationship with Matchroom
