Pedraza was for the belt. They took a calculated risk that turned out well to get that belt. Then at 22....you look to get the guy good experience. Hes getting that now fighting guys like santa cruz and barrios. 1 defeat between them. Hes now hitting that next stage where he needs to move up a level now. That to me is how a fighter should be brought along. 26 still young. You dont want them in massive wars at that age...if your looking at any kind of longetivity.
I must agree with you on that and it's bad for boxing but that's the game that all the big promoters are playing and nobody plays it better than Mayweather. He created it along with Al Haymon and Canelo along with Golden Boy adopted it. You can see it in every high caliber fighter's game plan. It's the guys who are trying to get to that level that are complaining but when and if they get there it will be the same thing. Their needs to be some new rules and standards in boxing that will eliminate that mess.
Dude it is sad, I been saying what you just said for half my life, pretty much since Money May beat de la Hoya. before that there was ducking here & there , it did exist. Just not as prevalent & rampant with every prospect & star constantly shameless ducking like it is now. it’s sickening.
Spot on. For such a soft spoken guy Leonard was a beast. By the time he was 25, Leonard had fought Roberto Durán twice, Tommy Hearns and Wilfried Benítez.
Tank is essentially a homeless prostitute that Floyd took in off the street. He will get the full Floyd treatment, milking low risks fights and avoiding high risk fights until they become low risk
Something tells me the Davis/Garcia/Haney/Lopez, or Film Actors Guild Four, as I call them, won't be tangoing very much outside of Twitter.
Risk/Reward is boxings history. Going back to John L. Sullivan being willing to fight any white man who could pony up the purse. Tommy Burns was a rarity.
