I thought it was a case of Porter pricing himself out. He was offered the same as he was vs Spence if my memory serves me correctly but wanted more trying to leverage more out of Top Rank due to Crawford's lack of a signature win at Welter.

Crawford or Arum should have really just taken a financial hit and either Crawford accepts a smaller than normal purse or Arum takes a loss to boost Porters purse so he could secure the fight and after, if he beats Porter more convincingly than Spence could really put the pressure on Spence to make the fight or at least make people reassess who really is number 1 at Welter and then recoup what they lost vs Porter further down the line.

    This!

I know that Crawford has great skills and looks the full package - why not fight Showtime? No one has beaten Porter convincingly yet - Brook, Thurman, Garcia and Spence were all v close with some folks belieiving Porter should have got the decision in at least one of them! all He is a handful for anyone on his night; if Crawford was to take on and KO (or at least school / clear UD) Porter, THAT is the statement that would shut up a huge amount of his doubters @ 147.

    Highly frustrating!

This. Crawford definitely isn’t being frozen out. The problem is Crawford, since Crawford is delusional and seems to think he’s in a position to dictate terms like Floyd, PAC, or Canelo to his opponents, but it just isn’t the case. Despite having a title Crawford at the moment badly needs credible opponents more than the credible opponents need him, so the credible opponents are going to make Crawford payup.

Also, Porter has a track record of being willing to fight anybody at 147, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to take being lowballed. Crawford was dreaming if he thought Porter or any top guy at 147 with a name would fight him for $1 or 2 million.

Crawford is only making it harder on himself to land named opponents at 147 If he continues to be stubborn.

Sounds like a lot of boxers in the gane right now.

Mall Charlo is headed on the same path. Heard he swerved Danny Jacob’s & picked Montiel over Danny Jacobs terrible look & sad if true.

    Tank Davis is lit,
But he is getting pushed to fight the elite. (Rightfully so)

but somehow Crawford gets a pass all these years & gets considered PFP top 3?

    Strange double standards.

    Crawford:

at LW weighed 152 v Gamboa

    at LWW 157 v Postol

    .. & so I'm assuming he'll be 162ish at WW.. we're taking about a guy who is 180lbs between fights ..

Combine that with his recent opposition & their inactivity etc & is that really the stuff of 'p4p' #1? For a guy approaching his mid 30s and who has been a professional 13 years? Umhhh.. hardly.. smoke & mirrors.. he is an excellent fighter no doubt but in my opinion he is NO WAY the sports best :)..

    Crawford is P4P king!
    Crawford is the GOAT!
    Crawford beats Specne!

Crawford can't even escape Arum's dog cage whilst he throws out of date dog treats at him.

Wasted career no legacy, will try to retire and live off his 0. EVERY fighter who has no losses will receive criticism and even deeper scrutiny of their resume than others. Crawford is going to be at the deep end of that scrutiny.
