Who would you have above him though? It's tough. He did well in the Malignaggi return.

    Yeah fair enough.
Pittman is coming off a loss & with a couple wins, he should rise back up above those you stated.:deal

the Ben Rabah fight was a war. It may have drained him. Sometimes those sorts of fights have a longterm effect on ageing fighters.

I dont think we have a clear best fighter.....If rocky wins his next fight then he gets it....if Vic wins his next fight then maybe its him.....Mundine wont step up so I dont think its him. :huh

I think in a few months we may have a better answer to this question.

I think Michael Katsidis & Vic Darchinyan are easily our best fighters. They stepped up a long time ago and although both have losses on their records its only because they are participating in REAL contests !!!!
Our fighters excluding Jamie Pittman, Lovemore Ndou & Hussein Hussein need to forget about having a clean padded record and start to involve themselves in contests where they can prove themselves against the world's best.
Dont get me wrong , if this topic was - WHICH AUSTRALIAN FIGHTER HAS THE BEST BUSINESS ACUMEN - hands down it would be Anthony Mundine. Who can blame him for staying in Australia, he wouldnt earn the same money overseas even if he fought Joe Calzahge, and in the event that he did win, he would be roped in and robbed by a promoter that wants to hold rights on him.

As a European following the Australian scene I would rank them like this:

    1. Anthony Mundine
    2. Michael Katsidis
    3. Vic Darchinyan
    4. Sakio Bika
    5. Lovemore N'dou
    6. Kali Meehan
    7. Ranee Ganoy
    8. Sam Soliman
    9. Kali Meehan
    10. Victor Oganov

    :)

I'd say Vic, most of our top guys such as Mundine, N'dou, Soliman etc are in the twilight of their careers.

If knowledge was dirt, most of you wouldnt be able to plant a pip.. Its a tough question, and always will be ... "who is best??"...My opinion at preseant, Mundine is our best due to his carreer experiences and the fact he will be able to box for atleast 3 more years without fading too much. All jinds of suggestions can be made regarding him... Katsidis, is a tough competitor, bit I suggest his life in the ring is limited to another couple of years due to the punishment he recieves.... No doubt, HE IS a tough kid and exciting to watch, but p4p...?? he is off the mark... Vic Darchinyan will become, in my mind, a champ at potentially 4 divisions, if he is willing to continue moving up the divisions... He is our 'best ' foriegn exponenet of the noble art without a doubt.. As for Geale.... dont ever suggest The Man is avoiding him, as there will be a very short fight if Mundine fights Geale... Under 7 rounds, as Mundine will be far superior in all facets... no disrespect to Geale, but common sense must prevail when comparing these 2 men. The only man I suggest Mundine is avoiding is Calzaghe... I wish he would ramain at super middle and do the right thing for some credibility... as its tiresome seeing this man be slagged off by knuckle heads, when, he has more ability than 75% of fight fans are willing to accept. As for Ndou, he is past it... Bika?? well my interest has been limited for a while... i need to see something special from him soon... Keep punching.

Straight Left.... you are on the ball for sure, although Katsidis is potentially our most exciting fighter, im not willing to say he is as qualified as Mundine, or Vic.... Regardless mate, your comments are worthy of appreciation... Keep `em coming.

Good list Kegsy. Personally I would do a swap between position 1 and position 3.

What about Emanuel "the Aussie" Augustus?
