If there was some way of making him speak perfect English, or me speaking perfect Spanish, and that he was guaranteed not to go ****ing bonkers and ruin my day, I'd take Roberto Duran. A lot of what he did was natural, but the stuff he was doing is teachable. Imagine learning from the most skilled and intelligent fighter ever, you'd master things other's hadn't even heard of. Especially in today's game where infighting is essentially a lost art.

The only issue I guess is referees not allowing you to work and perhaps, ironically, judges not being skilled enough to recognise and score all the fantastic inside work in close fights where you might not get a KD, let alone a KO.

Roberto Duran. As George said, you could master things other fighters don't even know exist. He was taught by Ray Arcel and Freddie Brown for crying out loud, he probably has techniques and tricks in his arsenal that date back to the late 19th century. He could teach you a thing about everything, whether it be about feinting, countering, defense, baiting, jabbing, control etc.

His way of infighting especially would make fighters cry today. Imagine being forced into an in-fight, and the only thing you know is just throwing punches with a high guard, and out of nowhere your opponent starts hitting you with uppercuts and hybrid versions of the hook out of nowhere from angles you weren't even aware were there. The man is a fountain of knowledge.

Stanley Ketchal, because the one thing that held me back when I was training was not wanting to hurt guys, so for Stanley to teach me his killer instinct would be beneficial

You mean you wouldn't have Paulie as your trainer? With tremendous insights such as, "you can't train him like a colored fighter. He ain't got the rhythm."

    You'd be missing out man.

Probably Vitali Klitschko would be best for me. He's similar in size to me and his style is close to what I used when I did a little boxing in the Army. He could teach me how to better utilize my size and style. I won't get into whether he was a Lineal Champion or not. He had belts, including The Ring's, so I'm thinking he qualifies as a Champion either way.

I'm gonna edit in Buddy McGirt. When I met him he acted like he knew me for 20 yrs and we talked training and who he learned from for about 20 min until his fighter was getting weighed in. Really awesome human being

One that I would not choose, is very arguably the greatest fighter of all time, Sam Langfrod.

For all his genius, he was a terrible trainer.

He just couldn't see that his pupils didn't have his natural gifts!

It's pretty rare that the best at anything are the best trainers.
