I am genuinely curious how this will divide us.

@greynotsoold is Wilder much worse then “Young” Foreman? ;)

No, because this forum is based on speculation and the opinion of other posters. We should not try to convince others anyway.

Deontay Wilder has the height and reach but he does not have the speed, footwork, stamina, reflexes and timing of a 1967 Muhammad Ali. Remember his Feb 6 1967 title unification against WBA champion Ernie Terrell, who was 6ft,6 inches tall. Ali messed with Terrell's head from the time the bout was signed in late 1966. Wilder a bit boastful appears quite intimidating, but Ali would play on things like his many costumes. Ali would dance, taunt, play with Deontay to cruise to a clear unanimous decision in 15 rounds. Ali did have enormous confidence.

Maybe in this scenario Deontay would be the one with the entire country behind him, being a kang and all.

Wilder is a mental midget and not a particularly intelligent person.

Ali would play with him like a kitten and stop him once he ran out of steam.

Wilder simply doesn’t have the skill set to upset Ali.
Apart from the hope of landing the big right hand haymaker what does he offer?
Despite his height and reach he doesn’t throw the jab, his output is low, he simply works on the assumption that at some point he’ll land the big one and even if he did here he’s against someone with a rock solid chin.
Ali with his speed particularly of hand puts a sustained beating on Wilder and stops him sometime after half way.
