The best way of becoming the A side is to defeat the A side. As Floyd Mayweather said and I quote “When I fought Arturo Gatti he was the A side and I was the B side. When I fought Oscar de La Hoya he was the A side and I was the B side. When I beat Arturo Gatti and I beat Oscar de La Hoya I became the A side”. JT may be many things but he is not the A-side against Tank that’s for sure.

 

He has been in good fights but Tank’s fights have been more explosive and exciting with a 100% knockout ratio in world title fights and 95% in his career the most devastating knockout artist in the world right now P4P.

If Tank wants to duck the fight by insisting he gets more money as a challenger, that's on him. But he needs to prove himself and this fight would do that.

If Tank stepped up and beat Taylor (even if it's charitable cards but not absolute robbery) then it's a seismic shift in his resume and deserving of significant praise.

Like you I'll be very surprised if Tank beats Taylor, but stranger things have happened.

Well Garcia is the kinda level I had Davis at. But if Tank is gonna go round calling himself the P4P king and the next superstar, then having Garcia as your best win doesn't really cut it.

 

It doesn't... But if you can big up Garcia by constantly listing him alongside Loma, Teo and Taylor then casuals are gonna fall for it.

Saw exactly the same thing with Luis Ortiz - his reputation was bigged up way beyond his ability to try and improve the perception of Wilders resume after they fought - and there are still people now that don't think rating Ortiz top 5 was a ridiculous fantasy.

Who told you the challenger gets less money. An A side challenger gets the most money irrespective of whose belt they are fighting for. This is basic stuff.

 

A 3 weight divisions undefeated unbeatable world champion with a 95% KO ratio against JT who could not even get his title unification fight picked up by just 1 broadcaster in his own country. Yeah he really is going to get the lions share against Guy who makes treble the money in 1 fight that JT has made in his whole career assuming JT has even made that much money.
