    Hello,

For the past 2 months I've been starting to have more and more trouble with my elbows. I've been told that the main cause for this is bad form and not tightening my hand enough when landing. I've been really focusing on proper form and the second issue but it still occurs in the same fassion. Did someone have to battle through something similar already and could tell me what exactly is happening?

Also, sometimes I feel like my body just wasnt made for boxing, and is just too fragile for me to be a boxers, it's not like I have weak bones, I've never broken one in my life, but there's no training session I leave without something hurting or aching. joints, shin, muscle etc.

I am really determined and do not plan on leaving this destroy my dreams, but I want to know if it gets better or if în some years time, I wont be able to move my arms anymore.

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard Bocșan

do more strength training to make your muscles more resistant to shots and punches. Do a lot of hard heavy bag rounds, include lot of sprints, swimming etc.

Pain is a sign something is wrong. You rest (de-load your sessions accordingly), listen to medical advice then go about strengthening it the proper way. Go see a physio, get a massage and dry needling. Find out the exact cause and which muscles may be overworked and tight. Take your time, you have your whole life to box. Correct what is wrong first. Don't be a hero and try to work through it. Pain at that level, means stop and rest. Have confidence that you will go back to contact and hitting the bag in a few months. Train around it by running, core, skipping and get a proper strength program from a professional (don't be meathead and try to strengthen whilst at the same time upping your output. De-load and do less on that body part until you have the proper course of action.

I personally never had that problem, but several people I trained had chronic hand or knee issues that limited their training. Even physio and rest wasn't enough, they hurt running or hitting the heavy bag. Maybe they lasted 2 weeks proper training then had to de-load for weeks until I saw them again and the cycle just repeated itself. They did not last in their training, even though they had talent.

Does it hurt when you're punching or just get gradually more sore? Is it sore within the joint or on the outside/inside? Does it tighten up and restrict movement of the elbow joint?

I'm pretty sure its the tendon that is inside the elbow that is hurting. There's pain when I make contact with my punch and after training, when I'm shadowboxing there's nothing. I can feel it right above the elbow on the outside (where the triceps meets the elbow), thats where the pain originates from.

Nothing sore and nothing tightening up, just pain, and it stays for at least 30 minutes after my session. Sorry for the late reply!

Its quite common for injuries to the outer part of the joints. I can't remember which way round it is but inside/outside is referred to either tennis or golf elbow.

It is caused by stress from rotating the wrist and forearm in either direction. You can really feel it if you over extend the punch (I.e. you miss)

Standard rules apply - warm up dynamically, static stretching afterwards. With the elbow it could be caused by either upper arm muscles or the wrist muscles as both pass through the elbow. There are plenty of golfers/tennis elbow exercises on YouTube.

Poor form - couple of issues - not tightening the fist enough caused by poor fitting equipment but that tends to be associated with the fingers, knuckles and wrist. Does it hurt if you strike the bag with bare knuckles?

Elbow injuries can also come from either over extending straight punches or whipping in hooks (where your elbow and wrist are not in the same plane). This puts a lot of stress on the elbow joint as all the force tries to twist through the joint and your tendons get damaged trying to resist.

The first time I had tennis elbow, and this ball cured it in two weeks.

The second time I had no grip. I couldn't even shake hands without my arm hurting from my wrist to my elbow. I was cured in two weeks and I punished those jokers who caused me pain by crushing their hand.

The third time it was a bicep, and shoulder problem. Once the shoulder was cured the bicep fell in line.

It is only $10: be brave: take a chance!

Never hand it to a girl while it is still spinning. They always drop it, and most times it breaks.
They will beg, complain, gripe, and argue. They will do anything to get their own way but they always drop it. A man could take bets, and win a lot of money with a gyro ball.
