Lets say he beat everyone put before him in a crushing demo of power. He beats Vander twice and Bus never gets up in Tokyo. Where do you rate him?
If he beats Vander, Lennox and Bowe and includes both Klit brothers in that undefeated run, top of the tree. But if me ma had two balls and a beard, she'd be my pa or an Olympic shotput champion with questionable test levels ...
The critics would find ways of discrediting his record. The Rocky lovers would find any reason to make 49-0 meaningful again. But Tyson’s all time ranking is higher. He’d be in the top 5.
You have got to be kidding me. If he does that, he'll be number 1 by a country mile, it it ain't even gonna be close. He would have the best resume by a big margin.
Zackly.....Its all about who makes up the 50-0...and if its a name, if he fought them before they'd had a chance to develop properly into the fighters we now to be.
Definitely number 1. The annoying thing with Tyson is that he could have achieved these things (or atleast close to it), but his lack of discipline & self-control ruined that for him.
As the GOAT personally Here's who would have have been on his list in the 1990s alone Holyfield Foreman Lewis Mercer Morrison Moorer Bowe Cooney Briggs Tua Let's say he got through ALL these guys - who would have been peaking and hitting their primes- and retired 50-0, how could you not have give Tyson his props and had him as the GOAT? The scary thing is that Tyson would still only have been in his early 30s too.....
Shoulda, coulda, didn’t. It’s wishful thinking even contemplating him achieving that when he couldn’t even excel beyond the age of 23 in reality. Typical Tyson fan girl thread. Reality says Douglas did get up and trounce him and Holyfield kicked his arse x2. As the movie says reality bites. Yeah but in imaginary land Tyson would’ve been worshipped for eternity if he’d never lost (actually he still is even though he lost badly numerous times).
