It can happen that’s for sure but I think Arum has plans to sacrifice JT to Crawford.

 

Good on Taylor for daring to be great then, by moving up in weight and taking on an elite champion rather than staying on at 140 to fight a smaller less established one-weight world champion. Of course an undisputed LWW would look to challenge himself against the last boxer to do the same. That's the level Bud and Taylor are at right now...

 

Is Tank not daring to be great moving up 2 divisions and willing to take JT’s belts. Can you not see the hypocrisy of what you are saying.

 

But he doesn't want to fight Taylor. At no point has he said this. Ellebe (not Tank - are you suggesting Tank can't talk for himself?) waffled on about Tank being able to knock out Taylor in a tweet (nowhere in the tweet did he mention trying to make the fight) and you got giddy and ran with a misplaced assumption. Taylor however has been quoted as saying he would like to fight Bud. So absolutely no hypocrisy.

Anyway a really interesting thread about Taylor and what he might do next. You're right, he warrants the attention and belongs in the conversation with other elite fighters in and around his division, such as Bud. Maybe one day Tank will belong there too...

 

I’d be all for this but can’t see it happening. Fingers crossed I’m wrong and it does get made. I think it’s comfortable points win for Taylor.

Can’t see Tanks team wanting it in all honesty but he’ll go up in my estimations if he does take it, win or lose.

 

Based on the bold and underlined text, I'm struggling to understand Olu's belief that Gervonta Davis is a high level ring general.

 

If Davis really could make easy work of Taylor then he should be forcing Ellerbe to make the fight whilst Taylor is holding all those belts at 140. What an incredible opportunity to get to undisputed status in one fight! He gets that status he can up his earning potential dramatically.

Somehow I don't see that happening. I think Davis, Ellerbe et al will give us some of what we want. They'll talk about making the fight and what Davis would do to Taylor etc. Then, when it comes to picking up the phone, we'll get radio silence.

Davis is an exciting fighter, but any boxing fan with a functioning memory has been down this road many, many times before. It's pointless talking about how great a fighter is, however impressively they've knocked out guys on a highlights reel, until they've faced the best around in their prime so we can accurately measure them against their peers.

Taylor has done just that. He's legitimate.

Davis hasn't. He's potential at best.

Ellerbe shouldn't be using Taylor's name if he's not serious about making a fight.

 

Oh he's finally fighting a top guy.

You obviously missed the Twitter exchange between Tank and JT a while back to see there is some beef between them. Surprised you guys don’t realise Tank moved up to test the waters at 140 against Barrios on purpose. Tank has viewed JT as a target for a while knowing he will knock him out with Taylor feeling the same. Perhaps you should do your research. What I would say is Taylor is made to order for Tank.
