I can't see Stevenson winning. Saad absorbs a few shots early, can take Adonis's power and slowly overwhelms Adonis. Saad proved in his prime that he can take everything and the kitchen sink on the chin. Saad also has a good jab that is often underrated, he never loses faith in it and will continually go back to it to buy time on the ropes and is a fundamental weapon in his offense. Adonis showed real holes vs Gvozdyk, he didn't like the pressure from the constant footwork and Gvozdyk was relentless with the jab and straight right hand. Saad can do a similar game plan, probably takes way more shots but his straight right was way more powerful and he gets the stoppage a few rounds earlier than Gvozdyk did.

 

Saad by KO. Stevenson was a heavy handed guy but Saad simply doesn't care and would grind him down.

On a side note. Adonis Stevenson's past is horrific.
We all know that he went to jail for pimping but the actual details go beyond that. Daily beatings of the women, he made the girls box each other and if a KO didn't happen the girls would be KOed by Adonis's best friend. Adonis put a knife to one of the woman's chest and told her that either she lets the clients do a**l sex or he will **** her that way instead. Even when he went to prison he put another guy in a coma. According to Adonis 5-6 guys tested him he claims that he dropped a few of them and then stood over the ring leader and kicked him in the head til he was unconscious. He was charged with attempted murder but the charges were dropped he only got 1 extra month in prison for that fight. He only served 18 months in prison because the law at that time accounted for those in custody awaiting trial get twice the value already served.

 

Both of the girls were exotic dancers, one of whom was Adonis's "girlfriend" who he pimped out and who his best friend raped at will. So by day he was training for the Olympics and in his spare time he was running an escort agency.

 

I actually didn't know about that. I just read an article about it after reading what you wrote. When I read @Indefatigable's comment on Stevenson, I thought 'that's a bit harsh considering the guy was in a coma'. Now, I've read this it seems Stevenson's been incredibly fortunate.

I read a comment on the article on Reddit (this is pre-coma, by the way) and I thought it summed up my feelings about it perfectly:

"I think there's also a difference in the degree of victimization that occurs with these types of crimes that makes it difficult accept and forget. Assault, robbery, adultery (not really a crime, but I've seen it mentioned): the victims are wronged, but they are wounds that heal. Sexual victimization - especially the prolonged variety, which is what this was - tends to leave victims with scars, particularly the psychological kind, that they carry for life. This is true for victims of one-off sexual abuse. I can only imagine the kind of demons that arise from being subjected to the type of abuse Stevenson's inflicted on his victims.

So while, yes, people deserve second chances, I do think there's a sad irony in the fact that Stevenson has been afforded the opportunity to move on with his life, enjoying the fame and riches that come with being a celebrated public figure, while his victims will, in some way, never get that chance. There's also the added insult of having to experience your tormentors successes through the media.

Also, I find the nature of his profession makes it all the more difficult to look beyond his past. Stevenson is a man who makes his money bludgeoning opponents with his fists. And he's good at it. Not boxing. Not the art of hitting while not getting hit. His specialty is that most quintessential of prize fighting qualities: pure, concussive power. He is celebrated for his ability to render grown men unconscious or otherwise incapable of defence. But it was this same power that was utilized against his victims - young women, often underage. Watch Stevenson knock out Chad Dawson, a grown man trained in the act of absorbing blows to the head. Watch Stevenson scramble his brains; watch as with one punch he severs the reigning Light Heavyweight Champion of the World's faculties from his extremities. Now imagine that left hook landing on a scared, naked 16-year-old girl. Which is what regularly occurred in Stevenson's games of forced naked fight club. Keep that in mind the next time you watch him fight.

There is a sadism to Stevenson's crimes that go beyond financial gain or the desperate necessity brought on by poverty. What's more is that Stevenson has shown no remorse. His response never goes beyond claiming he was hanging around the wrong people. That's a cop out. He refuses to take responsibility for his crimes and the affect he's had on people's lives.

I'm not incapable of forgiving. I just don't think it's warranted here."

And to get back on topic... Saad beats the **** out of him. I hope.
