Find a post of mine not giving EE or non American fighters props or minimumizing their skills. I call it like I see it. If I pick wrong, I will be the first to say I was wrong. If a fighter is talented, I say say so, regardless of nationality. I only push back when over the top EE fans act like their boys are the greatest fighters ever without even being proven. That's what I have a problem with. Nothing more, nothing less.
Inoue's amazing and as a fan of power punchers it always impresses me when fighters from the leprechaun divisions can punch holes in concrete walls. He's very solid in all other departments too with no discernible weakness. Loma is a magician though and I've been a big fan of his since 2008 and I've never seen anything quite like him. His consistency going 396-1 in the amateurs + his WSB fights is just freakish and it will never be replicated.
you've triggered 'surrix' because he's german and lauds fighters like ottke, sturm and michaelewski. he has claimed, among other things, that andre ward's career is no better than ottke's...
Mundine outboxed Ottke when he had literally been boxing for 18 months. The level of boxing skill he had as a rank novice was almost as extraordinary as how glassy his jaw was. Mundine started off very fast in his career and took on some challenges that were too much to early. By about 2006 he was a very good operator. Unfortunately he didn’t get the big fights (or perhaps he didn’t want them) at this time and by about 2010 he was past his best. He was also usually fighting bigger men because either he didn’t cut much weight or didn’t really reshape his body much after playing rugby league. As a league player he was no more than about 180lb even carrying excess muscle. Had he been a boxer all along he would’ve always been a 154lber.
That's exactly what I'm talking about. The over the top fans make claims and when someone contridicts them, they call you biased against EE or non American fighters. Not saying some US fans aren't that way, but in my case, nothing is farther from the truth.
Teofimo Lopez. People think Lomachenko is going to mow him down but they must relize this guy Lopez is in the early stages of his career and he is going to give Loma issues. Lopez can already hang with the elite and he has so much time. Imo by the time he reaches his absolue peak he has the potential to be on par if not surpass prime oscar de la hoya in terms of H2H although i dont think he'll surpass his resume. His counterpunching and his power impresses the hell out of me. I think he'll beat Lomachenko again and everybody who doubted him will be wrong again
Denis Shafikov. Road warrior, beat much bigger fighters and always exciting to watch. Gave it it his all win or lose, very unlucky to have not picked up a belt.
it's a defence mechanism. he must know deep down that the reason the hometown fighters he supported didn't get their career-defining fights because they avoided the US like the plague, and so you triggered his over the top response.
Probably overrating him, but I think Charles Conwell is an overlooked prospect. Already shows more than Tszyu and has a higher ceiling than Lubin
