No. never happen. Ruddock went through a ton of different trainers. And I sure do not see Manny putting up with the guy or wanting his brother Delroy in any Kronk gym for too long.
Ruddock has a way of his own. Once he discovered he had power, any thoughts of using his jab went out of the window. Wouldn't matter who was in the corner.

Steward gets a hold of him in 88, gets rid of him in 89. I don't know if Steward would put up with Ruddock (didn't he like to just disappear after fights and vacation for long stretches of time)?
Whether Patterson was a good match for Razor I dont know, but I don't think Old Floyd should get too much blame here, there was a combination of Floyd just coming on as Ruddock's trainer and trying to drill something other than "Ruddock SMASH" into his arsenal, and Lennox actually being a future ATG at heavy
