Nunn was standing right in front of Toney when he got nailed and had his head sticking right up, Duran was harder to catch clean, his head movement was brilliant. Toney never slaughtered Nunn in the last few rounds,. I think the last few rounds were given to Nunn by the judges but he was starting to tire and get caught more, McCallum was at an advanced age when he fought Toney he was older than the Duran that fought Hagler
    Bob Watson 99 - 91
    Dalby Shirley 98 - 92
Gary Merritt 97 - 93 in favour of Nunn at the time of the stoppage, Toney said he wwsn`t impressed with his punch power v Nunn and would have to improve, most of his punches v Nunn didn`t have much snap aside from some of the right hands in the last few rounds of that bout.

83' version of Duran that fought Hagler is tough to stop. I would pick no fighter with confidence to stop that version of Duran. Not even Monzon or Hearns. Certainly no GGG.

Eduardo Lausse could crack Duran's chin.

Some one like GGG fights much to conservatively and measured against top competition to KO Duran. In fact, I'm not even sure if he beats the Duran from the Hagler fight.

So many are jumping on the Mccllean band wagon because of his size comparison
to Hearns. Trust me I've seen Thomas Hearns, Mccllean ain't him!
The competition difference between Hearns and Mcclllean is a wide gulf.
It's great to have the size advantage Mccllean would have over Duran , but
Hearns also had excellent skills and speed to go along with his size.

Mccllean fought one good fighter in Nigel Benn and he was slightly past his best
yet he lost to him. Mugabi and Jackson were over the hill and deep in the
Valley. The rest of his competition were fighters that were tailor made to make him
    look good.
I don't believe Mccllean pulls a Thomas Hearns on a in shape and prepared Duran.
The Duran that faced Barkley possbly beat him out right.
The only Middle's that have the combination of skills, power and speed to ko in shape
and prepared version have been mentioned. Robinson and Hearns possibly J.Jackson.

Benn`s performance v G-man was by far his best, he improved after losing to Eubank.

How about William Joppy? everyone seems to dismiss that fight. Why?

He did, dramatically. He moved up to super then bagged himself a belt.
Those were the days when we had Eubank, Benn and Watson.

Because Duran so old and did better v Hagler than Joppy would have.

Yes, Benn improved after the Watson fight. He peaked against DeWitt and Barkley.

I'd favor Roberto just based on their sparring footage. Keep in mind this is from 1988.

It pisses me off that Duran's UK tour got removed from youtube. This footage is from a long special aired in 1988 which included extensive training footage and several exhibition fights with various British Boxers. It was top quality watching Duran work.

Benn is holding back massively. Duran messing around. It was a little move about for 1.5-2 rounds.
