Yeah, Gassiev looked lethargic yesterday, but it would be dumb to write him off based on one fight. Are people forgetting the subpar performances Whyte has had in his own career? I.e the Wach fight.
For sure. Also, Wallish weighed 226 for Gassiev but he was 260 against Joyce last year and 250 for Yoka the year before and he actually looked very light on his feet and nimble and was moving round the ring nicely and movement is obviously something that is going to give Gassiev problems until he manages to catch up with you so that played a part too.
Wallisch isn't a total bum, those who have suffered from the sickness of following lesser touted HW prospects might remember that he once showed potential. Definitely has some skill, but the heart isn't there.
Whyte hasn't got the whiskers, trust me, his chin has gone. It isn't going to end well for Dillian, I believe they know this so they will be trying to bag as much cash as they can before he gets ironed out again and it's the beginning of the end for him.
He's not someone I've seen more than 2 or 3 times but I was actually impressed by how light on his feet he was for a big man
This content is protected Was on my radar after this, few others on here rated him as well. This was before the crop from the 2016 Olympics even turned pro, so it was quite a different landscape. Seemed to go nowhere after a while and I had heard his heart really wasn't fully in boxing, after Hammer that rumor became reality. Looks like now with that zero gone, the pressure is off, and he's content with being a journeyman.
Nasty KO. To be fair, all his losses sans Hammer who is a decent fighter are to massive punching KO artists or highly regarded prospects Gassiev Joyce Yoka Ajagba
Until Gassiev prove himself a bit more at Heavyweight, I'm picking Whyte at the moment. He's a true heavyweight and he's got power too.
Whyte's jab will keep Gassiev shelled up and unable to unload. At a certain point though he'll get through with some sharp counters and likely hurt or drop Whyte, but Whyte gets up and gets back into the fight. Whoever mentioned the Rivas fight is probably on the money here, but it'll be a lot more of Whyte dominating from stretches and Gassiev having his big moments. Got Whyte by decision. Gassiev will be too hesitant and low output to get the late knockout he needs.
Imo Gassiev wins by KO. He's 27 years old and still improving, Whyte is 33 and on the decline after all of the beatings, KD's and KO's he's recieved. Gassiev has a far better chin, more power, better stamina and there's little difference in size, speed or skill. Whyte has little confidence anymore after his crushing loss to a shot 41 year old Povetkin, that's why he's ducking the mediocre Martin for the p*ss-poor Franklin.
Let's see how gassiev comes back. In his interviews he told he had a major shoulder injury and it took way longer than everybody thought, he even reinjured it again after the surgery, that's why it took so long to fight again for him. He said everyone who has a similar injury should take a long time off for heeling. He said he is trying to get back to world level skillwise and also in the ranking, but he needs some time. If he is close to his cruiserweight career, even at 200 pounds he would walk right through dillian Whyte
