Jess Willard quit twice in his small career. Fury rose from cold out after getting hit by one of the hardest punchers ever and went on to win the rest of the round.
The greatest weapon in the arsenal of Tyson Fury is the ability to look like he is getting busy while he is doing nothing. I am being as honest and sincere as I am capable of being when I say that that is an incredibly valuable thing to be good at. It is a gift that cannot be over valued.
Of course you are being sincere and honest as this is right on the money !! Surprised some people just cant see it..... BUT when he is fighting a guy who cant fight ,, things can look different
One thing seems certain: If Fury ever takes a beating like Willard did from Dempsey, he will never be that courageous.
I used to ADORE Jess WIllard. He would come out and go "Hey, wha' happened?" or "I don't THINK SO." and we would all just get hysterical, grandma and Uncle Pit-Pat and I, and the rest of the family. Gosh, that was the best time. But things like that are over and they are replaced by pube commercials and ish.
How many rounds? 20? 25? Willard fought two fights that were 20 rounds or more. Fury wouldn't last anywhere near those number of rounds. Fury has never, to my knowledge, fought anyone as large as Willard who I believe was bigger than Wlad. Those are two points in Willard's favor. But if we're being honest, neither guy is a great boxer. Fury has excellent movement for his size, but little real power. Fury is not, and has never been, a big, one punch kind of boxer. He slapped Wilder to a win. He's not going to pull a Dempsey on Willard. I'd pick Willard over a 20 round fight, but Fury would slap, duck and run his way to a UD over 12 rounds.
Jess Willard defended his title against an obviously superior boxer and took a beating and still kept on trying, while Fury can't even be bothered to defend his title EVER and keeps coming up with fake excuses, even against guys he previously beat.
You may be correct, but it is starting to appear that he climbed the mountain, but has lost his fire and desire. Remember we are dealing with a Mentally ill individual.
