I thought Charlo would use his physical advantages and box, he looked to me like he was trying to knock out Castano by landing a big shot rather than box and if the KO comes it comes.
Amateurs and Pros are two totally different levels. Just because somebody did something in Amateurs, don't mean they can do it in the pros. The difference in that fight was, Charlo fought his worst fight while Castano fought his best, and still got a draw. Rematch will be different. Charlo could have won this fight if he had listened to coach James. Coach James told him everything he needed to hear. Charlo made this fight easy for Castano.
Castano did it in the pro's as well, that's why he beat Mell. That was a regular perfomance for Castano, he fights like that all the time. Castano should be the Undisputed Champ right now, not mell.
There's no shame in losing to Castano because he's a damn good fighter. Even if you're on your home soil where everything is stacked heavily in your favour and you have a full set of home judges working not only a world title fight between a home boy and a foreigner but a unification match up for all four belts ala Taylor vs JCR there's no shame in losing to him But there is shame in losing to a way past prime inactive Korobov on your home soil with a stacked deck of home officials who literally hadn't fought anyone with a pulse in four years and had only fought once in 25 months, in a six-rounder against a can who was 2-11 in their last 13 fights 9 of said stoppage losses inside schedule
Yeah, and it's a consistent thing with these two brothers. Jermell's had it in the past vs Trout, with an outrageous 118-108; a 97-93 vs Vanes; and a now a horrendous 117-111 in a fight where when that was announced, most thought it was gonna be for the other guy. Look at Jermall's record, too. Whether or not you thought he won or lost these fights, the scores 118-110 vs Derevyanchenko, 119-109 vs Korobov and two 116-112s vs Trout are all ridiculous. Decent fighters whose dedication is respectable, and athleticism is incredible, but their terribly protected.
I was born and lived in Russia for 17 years, so russian is my first language and I know the country and its mentality pretty well. I dont see myself as Russian tbh, i dont like identification with race or nationality.
