For sure. It's as much mental as physical and you don't become an ATG without a bit of both. You could see how a trainer could get a little excited if an untrained Lewis walked into their gym though.
great jab great uppercut could fight inside or outside he could box patiently like he did vs Tua or Holyfield he could bomb guys out like golota or grant he could be dragged into a way and come out on top like mercer or klitschko (yes i know) i think he was a very consistent fighter though he was caught twice, once being out of shape and ill prepared. he beat an array of styles and sized opponents and faced and defeated practically anyone who mattered only really missing bowe and wlad though im not sure he could be blamed solely for either. some accuse him of missing byrd but he was cashing out against tyson so who could blame him though some call him arrogant i would say he was mostly a humble fighter who conducted his business in the ring. avenging his losses shows character (i know)
Pretty much everything made him so great, save only his Peter as the drawback. His doctor had diagnosed him with an enlarged John Thomas, shortly after hitting puberty, and the extra weight and circulation apparently depleted his natural stamina, having to sort of schlep it around the ring, especially when he was bouncing on his toes, because that's a lot of...stuff to deal with. I guess it can also cause significant tension and immobility of the lower back, which he had to deal with, and as I'm learning from my boyfriend, I guess it can cause bloody noses, if it sort of flaps up and hits you or someone else there, and then the judges think it was the opponent that caused it. It's really hazardous for a fighter. It was his only weakness, having this five, six pound thing trying to anchor him to the canvas, that a lot of other fighters don't have to deal with. But, my point is, really, that you'd be better off asking what wasn't great than what was. Because pretty much everything was the great part.
I guess Emanuel also wanted him to get some sort of procedure done to shrinkulate it so it was only like 30% that size, but Lennox said something like "Lions have to be the king." and that shut that conversation down.
He was definitely one of the smarter heavyweight champions, never signed with King, kept his private life very private, retired with all his faculties and money, learned from his mistakes in the ring and didn't repeat them and surrounded himself with the right people.
That version of Wlad was more reckless and less mindful of his opponent. Lewis woulda dispatched that version of Wlad mid way through the fight IMO. This is a terrible reason. Since anyone can just retort, "If Brewster, Purrity, and Sanders can KO Wlad...."
What did i say was wrong? The klitschko of the mercer fight could have knocked out any version of lewis, his aggression was too much. Klitschko with steward was too cautious and afraid.
Wlad from the Mercer fight would KO any version of lewis? Really? Because he beat a shopworn former contender in Mercer? You don't seem to understand, Wlad's aggression was his weakness.
He also made Mike Tyson cry after punching him in the head at their press conference. LOL This content is protected
