Several things: - If they don't trust Caleb to stay undefeated, he should have been the FIRST guy they went after, instead of saving him for last. Plus, the Super Middleweight division is terrible. Other than Benavidez (who let's be honest would be a more lucrative fight with Canelo anyway), who is Plant possibly going to lose the title to, especially with PBC home-cooking? - I doubt anything would happen to either guy at all but this is about possibilities, not likelihoods. Why should Caleb not be able to take a fight and get another paycheck if Canelo does have to stay out for ages? If something bad happens to Canelo and Caleb ends up waiting anyway, fine and dandy, he rose a stink over nothing, but... - This whole thing stinks of starting a fight over nothing. Caleb was giving in to all of Canelo's demands (one-sided rematch clauses, ring size, PPV upside, yadda-yadda) which, Canelo's the star and brings more weight to those decisions, especially with Plant's purse demands. So fine, no problem with that. But then saying that if something happens to Canelo, not only do you not get that big payday (again, fine, who else is Caleb making even half this much with), you don't make any money at all while I heal up. It's one thing when negotiating to determine purse size and other such. It's another thing to directly mess with another man's ability to go out and make money. - The odds of something like that happening to Canelo are as good as the odds of something like that happening to Caleb, or something smaller happening to either, or one or both catching COVID. It's a clause that stinks of picking a fight with someone who had been conciliatory up until that point. If you think that you need guarantees given recent events with the virus, okay, but to pretend that Caleb doesn't get guarantees because "ha-ha B-side" is just being a horrid person. - Caleb's last two fights were a year apart because of the pandemic, don't be daft. - If it comes out that Caleb is full of crap or the Canelo camp agreed Caleb would be financially compensated to some degree ($750K is about as much as he makes for his fights, so try to whittle him down from there) for sitting and waiting, I reserve the right to scrap all of this and change my mind.
Was Canelo supposed to care who had the belt before he made his way around to PBC? Most of these paragraphs aren’t making much sense. Canelo has target dates he wants to adhere to, he wants to stay active. Plant is the last champ, he wants to lock him into the fight. The late replacement doesn’t mean Plant loses the fight. It just means Canelo will fight him after his upcoming date. If Plant wants to make 10m, “POTENTIALLY” waiting a few extra months is no big deal. These thing usually have an expiration date. This is just an excuse to not make the fight. You think Canelo will just fight a PBC rando and leave after all this? No, he wants the belt. This is not Caleb’s problem. “Horrid person” but he’s locking Plant in to make 10mil. This is PBC’s problem. And if they can’t figure this out hand the job to DAZN. This should not be where the fight falls dead, unless PBC are adamant that Plant is not allowed to another network.

This forum is a place of discussion and often times passionate ones. The vast majority of posts contain opinions fueled by feelings and emotions. Clenelo's diva antics are observable facts that warrant scorn.
sure, you can let your feelings control your reasoning as much as you want, many here are powerless to avoid it, its the only function they got. i estimate at least 20% of posters are under the age of 25, so i dont expect maturity from everyone. i do expect them to understand why theyre being kids, when theyre being kids.
and they are. allowing them to color every fact related, is not a problem on canelos side. thats an individual problem within each individuals ability to handle their emotions. does canelo get favorable score cards? yes he does. does it make you feel better to think thats why wins? im sure it does. is that a true representation of reality? no, it is not. so now your dealing with a guy with dodgy scorecards, AND an insecure individual who cant handle looking at things such as they are. because it doesnt feel good to do so.
