Why do you bring up the first fight with Maidana when I specifically mentioned the rematch? He rematched Maidana when he had given him a tough fight. Immediately. Same with Castillo. And he gave Pac a legit offer when Pac was at his peak. As you well know, of course. He faced Mosley in Mosley's next fight after beating the snot out of Margarito. As you also well know. All you have is speculation about styles. It's all deluded fantasy and those peddling it are in all honesty making fools of themselves. This forum at its worst. Sinking down to General Forum level, where facts and reason don't count - only which fighter you like and which you don't. I don't much care for Floyd, btw. If you have something more worthwhile to say I will engage, otherwise goodbye for now.
I never said that he didn’t rematch Maidana. I brought the fight up merely to highlight the fact that it’s easy to dismiss someone on paper. Again, if Floyd hadn’t have fought Maidana at all, you’d probably laugh at the notion that he’d have troubled him. It’s easy to say that a guy like Marg was a face first plodder who lost to guys who Floyd beat. But you should know that it’s never as simple as that. So what if he rematched Maidana and Castillo? Did they bring in the millions of dollars that Oscar did? He wanted nothing to do with a peak version of Manny. His uncle Roger had him scared to death. What have I said that isn’t true? He sat out for 18 months whilst the division was interesting with lots of great stylistic match ups. That is a fact.
It's even more delusional to claim that Mayweather could never lose to any boxer in history below light-middleweight. Yet some on here act as though that is the case.
Problem with Floyd during his boxing career esp at welter was he needed to resort to fake retirement just to avoid prime fighters. When Pac was at peak the fight was so difficult to make but when pac seems over the hill the fight was easy to make he was the one guilty of prohibited IV to unmasked f his PED. He made demands after demands to ensure the fight is not happening.
Please. He didn’t avoid anyone by retiring. He did it to make more money like many fighters have done.
He made an offer to peak Pac, that Pac refused because of testing. That was a good demand and Pac refused it. I prefer Pac, but that's on him.
Some on this forum pick him to win every fantasy bout. They also overrate the boxers he actually faced. He isn't god.
Just let me get this straight: So Floyd retired when Pac was yet to have a fight over 130, then returns when Pac is the top WW and offers Pac a fight. And he did this to avoid Pac? Can't we just please stop this insanity?
