Am I right in thinking Can Xu isn’t the actual world champ and has the regular belt? Isn’t Santa Cruz still the WBA champion?
I really think Eddie & DAZN might get a bit of a wake up call without the Sky promotion. The stream for the presser had almost nobody watching it and the hype videos / interviews for fight camp on Matchroom boxing’s YouTube page have a low number of views too. I have friends who I would consider more than casual fans but they’re not watching Fight Camp because they don’t deem anything on there worth signing up for another pay service for.
My god imagine those people forking out £700 for a ticket and even the mediocre headline act not happening. Eh Day proceeding as normal and this must be like buying a ticket for Lady Gaga and ending up with Gaga Ladies hoping nobody notices.
Surely Eh Day refunds £600 at least to reflect such a poor card. £150 is about right for a poor card complete with Hot Dog and a Firework Display.
I've always preferred Matchroom to most other promotions but I think you could be right but I see it for different reasons. The main sticking point for me won't be the lack of Sky promotion as lets face it EH IS the best in the business at that and will already have alternative streams for his promotional BS but I DO think not being able to just switch your TV on and watch will be a massive turn off for many. I know that some new (ish) TV's can get DAZN but alot can't , I for one have to watch it on a phone , I don't particularly want to spend my Saturday nights doing that. Like you I know friends who are not hardcore but a step up from casuals who ask me how and where to watch DAZN, when I say on their phone unless they can get it on their TV they just laugh. I'm sure there is some way for me to set it up to watch on my TV but I really can't be a***d doing that and I feel alot of people will feel the same.
