Which fighter would you give Canelo credit for beating this year or the next?

... and Oscar De La Hoya. (I wouldn't give him credit for beating Oscar and it wouldn't be a "good win" so much as I'd like to see him beat up Oscar De La Hoya.)

 

If he were to beat Benavidez without a rehydration clause I would shut my gob up , the fight with the 175ers isn't happening without stacking the cards higher than Eiffel Tower.

 

It's not who, It's when and how.

Why would I give him credit if he would give Bivol 3 weeks to prepare for a fight ?

 

Also Badou Jack isn't that good of a fighter, Joe Smith would knock im out easy peasy lemon squeezy.

and i dont need these guys to be babied by canelo in order for me to give him credit. they are fully mature long time professional fighters, not immature couch potato idol worshiping posters. they know the score and where they need to be for their own welfare.

Those 3 are too credit opponents, like the best case scenario. He either unifies SMW, beats the number 1 LHW or beats the best LHW.

Next level is Joe Smith Jr. LHW title holder and a worthy opponent.

Next level is Benavidez and Ramirez. Those two are the high risk low reward types. Both of the level that if Canelo beats them, he won't get credit because they haven't actually beaten anyone that decent themselves.

Below that is Golovkin/Charlo/Andrade. These 3 are my least favourite choices as they're in the division below, but they're noteworthy opponents at least.

Last level of credit worthy opponent is CEJ.

Not sure if anyone else is on my radar for him right now.

 

The only Canelo gets credit is if he public apologises to the actual boxing fans for the following:

-blatant PED use
-robbing GGGx 2 and Lara and acting like he won
-organised sparring session with Kovalev (and Smith, Yildrim)
-weight bullying at 154 (95% of his career)
-weight jumping cherrypicking and fingers pointing heavily towards Canelos team ensuring their opponent does not come to win

Absolutely. If fight would be fair then he would get all the credit that he deserves.

 

you think being told now, for a mid september fight, is enough time? not that he needed telling, everyone knows hes on the list and could get the call at anytime, but lets give him every benefit of every doubt. is it enough time?

 

Depends if Clenelo can find his sack to fight someone without his usual diva antics and stacking every single possible thing in his favor. Given his demonstrated history and track record of fighters calling him out for his BS, it's highly doubtful.

 

Beterbiev or Bivol would be sensational.

 

All I'll say to this is.. If you cannot see the ridiculous list of advantages Canelo wants in order to fight then I truly feel sorry for you.Everyone knows Canelo is a Ped's abuser. He was proven positive for Clenbuterol & "punished" NSAC style lol. Everyone know its practically impossible for any opponent to ever get a decision win over him, regardless of how the fight pans out
I said it about Floyd,when he was fighting Pac.. If he can beat Pac LEGITIMATELY!! with no jiggery pokery or Corruption I'd willingly give him full credit & call him my champion. !! Sadly he couldnt do it IV gate compared to how Pac was treated ruled that out.
Same with Canelo / GGG But again he couldnt do it either.
There is no way in hades that Canelo won either fight with GGG he got beaten TWICE!!
Boxing has gone to the dogs & its heartbreaking. Its not the better fighter that wins the Gold its the chosen cash cow that always gets the nod. I know it ,you know it, everyone knows it. The State Commissions look the other way
