Bivol should take the money, he already looked like crap in his last outing....he would probably need to fight 5-10 more times to make the same money Canelo can give him

I think Bivol should take it. Clenelo at 175 is there to be taken for an L.

When I said that the deck will already be stacked against Bivol I meant on fight night. Your argument seems to be that because ''site and particulars'', judges and referees haven't been announced yet, that means I can't say the fight will be stacked against Bivol. I can say it though because the evidence of history is a clear indicator of what will happen in the future.

The biggest advantage of all is that the judges are certain to favour Canelo as they have done in all his previous fights. You don't need to wait for the judges to be announced to know that, unless you are in complete denial.

Imagine thinking that the mexican golden boy of boxing fighting in america, who has a history of suspect cards in his favour, draining opponents, suspect wraps, ped cycling, giving opponents short camps, imagine thinking he won't have any advantages this time over a relatively unknown russian. I'm sure a relatively unknown russian whose country is hated and demonised by america will receive a fair shake in america against the mexican golden goose of boxing:duh

fair enough. since now youre saying hes had all these advantages in every fight, and thats why you said what you did, what advantages did he have in his last fight vs bjs? im not looking to fight, im looking for people to be able to back the noice they make. its not an unreasonable expectation. so how did canelo screw bjs?

    Typical Clenelo move...
And his fans in approving this attitude...
The guy is a good boxer, but he is not atg.
Peds (that’s the fact), cherry picking (that’s the fact), working with judges (Mayweather, GGG scorecards are the best examples), stacking everything in favour (ring size, weight limits, rehydration limits etc) and other things.
And you call this guy an ATG???? I understand his groupies, but kirk seriously?

6 weeks is fine IF the fight is at 175 OR it's at 168 and Bivol isn't walking around at 180.
If Bivol is 175 now then 7 pounds should not be an issue

Bivol is a top P4P talent this is no sure thing for Canelo even with no camp, a flock of Adalaide Byrds judging, and a walking bottle of clenbuterol as the ref/anti-doping authority.

I'd bet a good bit that Canelo doesn't make Joe Smith Jr look as hapless as Bivol did, for one thing. Canelo probably struggles at times with Richards too.

Coming down to 168 for this for Bivol would actually be the best thing, on the assumption that his 175 title would not be on the line - all reward and no real risk (aside from losing his 0)

On the flipside, if that was the case, there is nothing in it for Canelo, so i'm thinking this will be for the 175 title, regardless (catch-weight?).

Bivol's judging of distance is really excellent, and I think he was on cruise control against Craig Richards, and there was a possibility that in that fight he was 1) getting in rounds 2) getting rid of ring rust 3) opening the door to Canelo / Beterbiev unification by looking average in the process.

One thing I think is for sure, Bivol will come to win against Canelo, it won't be like Smith / Yildirim. Additionally, if Bivol can take one of Smith Jr's best, then his chin is good; although with Canelo the question for Bivol is the body shots - that then get's back to Bivol keeping Cabelo at distance and working every second of every round; this is why I have thought that Bivol (not Beterbiev) is the worst style matchup for Canelo out there as his engine is really good, he is always punching with sharp jabs and nice combinations, and his footwork is excellent - can Bivol keep Canelo constantly resetting and not getting a rythym?

Generally I think that Bivol is dedicated to the sport and always in shape, it comes down to how much confidence in his own abilities does he have to execute the plan and take both the money AND the legacy.

I say go for it, he as much chance of beating Canelo as anyone else @175 and down - and let's face it, whoever Canelo faces is gonna have the same deck stacked against them - unless everyone tells ginger to **** off and leave him without a decent dance partner the rest of the year. But money talks, and someone will step in to get shellacked by Canelo at short notice, guaranteed.

I think Bivol should take the risk, he's not a shot Kovalev and he might never get another chance - both for the green and the legacy!

So a short camp and a weight drained opponent?

I see nothing has changed in Cleneloland.

It will be a bit more than 7 weeks from the announcement that the Plant was dead in the water and that Canelo was looking at Bivol. If he's anything like a true pro (which he certainly is) he'd start to get into top shape the moment he heard that announcement, if not before. There's been doubts about the Plant fight for a while now and Bivol being named as an alternative, so this is not that very unexpected.
