Pero beat Torrez at the PanAmerican games 2 years ago but a close fight that could have been judged the other way. Really contrasting styles. Pero was even younger then.

I'm really pleased for Clarke because he's a great guy but I'll have to watch that again because that looked harsh and I didn't see anything egregious from the Frenchman to deserve being DQ'd. I think the ref implied he headbutted him but I didn't see a butt during the replay. The cut was caused by a head clash or butt earlier on but I don't recall seeing anything flagrant. Maybe I missed it but upon first viewing that did seem harsh.

Jalolov won on a shut out over Kumar

Whittaker beat Khataev on a split. It was always going to be a difficult style match up for the Russian against someone as long, rangy and elusive as Whittaker because he's very short for the weight class and it was hard for him to get into range and Whittaker is really slippery.

He does, that's why I suspected he would give a good account of himself.

I'm not sure but I swear I heard one of the commentators say the word nephew so maybe Vic is his uncle

 He looks quality, the semi-final against Khyzhniak will be fun for sure.

I'm just a little confused about the ending of Aliev-Clarke.

The ref ruled the cut was a headclash, he gave Aliev a couple of warnings for use of the head. So if he feels he saw him using it again then I can understand a point deduction.
But it seemed to go from a warning, to point deduction to DQ in an instant.

They are reviewing it now and were meeting with the French team a little while ago.
They were showing a lot of action again in replays whilst they were waiting to hear.
I swear I saw a replay where Aliev had his head in Clarke's face, he then bangs the back of Clarke's head with the inside of his glove. It almost look like he was actually trying to pull Clarke's face into the top of his skull ..I'd like to see that again, in real time aswell to see if I saw that right.

He is a Pac promotion boxer and all of them have a youtube vlogging channel. How the F can you train with a camera? Fair enough you get subscribers and make some money but it's time to put it down and focus on boxing.Instead of editing, adding music to the video and uploading it etc.

Yeah it was really confusing. It's hard to tell what refs are issuing warnings for because they're always breaking the fighters up and saying something to them and most of the time I don't know what it is unless it's something really obvious.

As I understood the situation he got the point deduction for the head butting but the DQ for showing aggression toward the ref.

I don't know if it was the gesturing or something he said, but in pretty sure thats why he got the DQ.

Pretty good first round in Iglesias/Zamkovoi, Cuban got the better of it.

Round 2 for Iglesias also. Zamkovoi can’t keep up with the fast combos.

Iglesias knows when to turn the screws after starting the games looking pretty average.

I thought they did that Mongol dirty..he fought his guts out and landed clean hard bombs throughout.
Came down to one judge basically had to do a coin toss in his head..and he was always going to give it to the Russian seeing he had just scored a 10-8 round for him. I thought the standing 8 count was a little harsh and outside of that the round was pretty competitive.
